Where did you install Firefox from? Help Mozilla uncover 3rd party websites that offer problematic Firefox installation by taking part in our campaign. There will be swag, and you'll be featured in our blog if you manage to report at least 10 valid reports!

When I try to play a video on Firefox desktop, it takes it a long time to load. Once it has loaded, whenever I pause it for more than a few seconds, or if I try to skip around the video (either by clicking around in the loaded section of the progress bar or using +/- seconds buttons), the video begins buffering again before the video resumes. This makes it extremely difficult and frustrating to watch anything that requires me to pause, rewind, or fast forward. I've noticed this issue affect multiple video viewing sites, such as YouTube, Vimeo, and Netflix. My roommate also uses Firefox, but doesn't have this issue, so I know it's not a problem with my internet.I thought it might be a problem with my computer, but I tried to replicate the issue in Chrome and everything worked fine there. The issue has persisted almost a week.I have:

Once I did this, videos started playing normally again. I had to repeat this process for every audio device my computer is connected to, but so far it seems to have fixed it.I'm still at a complete loss as to why this affected Firefox but not chrome, but I'm just happy I've got it working again. Thanks for your help everyone!

Update: I muted a tab while playing YouTube, and the buffering issue vanished, which leads me to believe that this may be an audio issue. I tried updating all my audio drivers, as well as playing videos on different audio devices, and the issue did not change.I have also noticed that when I switch audio devices, the switch takes several seconds to process. This leads me to believe the issue might be with my computer after all. I will now be looking into that, and will post a solution here in case anyone else runs into this problem. That said, I'm still not ruling out that this might be a Firefox issue, since it doesn't seem to be affecting chrome (although I have started noticing a delay when I start videos on chrome, but after the video begins it works fine). Any advice anyone might have on this problem would be greatly appreciated!

Windows home or pro? If pro, try testing in Windows Sandbox (VM) and see if you have the same issue. -to-use-windows-10s-new-sandbox-to-safely-test-apps/WiFi or plugged in?Who are you using for DNS?You can right click on the youtube video and show the stats for nerds to see you connection speed. see screenshotWhat security software are you running?

Same issue in Firefox on a Framework 13 laptop here. YT videos play fine in Edge. A few weeks ago on my desktop PC the YT videos played just fine in Firefox. Appears many others have similar issues, see Reddit below. I do have a fair amount of Firefox extensions, haven't tried without them.

_started_to_stutter/ - WE MAY HAVE A WINNER! This seemed to do it for me. Some sort of DXVA issue but not sure how it relates, honestly, as it's not explained in the reddit post. media.wmf.dxva.d3d11.enabled switched from true to false.

I downloaded FF "Developer Edition" and that fixed it for about a week... now FF won't play Youtube or NetFlix again. Prior to that I attempted a suggested fix by resetting my DRM stuff, to no avail.

I happened to have the AdGuard browser extension on Firefox. Disabling that extension fixed the problem for me. Interestingly, I also have the same extension on Edge (although Edge uses a different rendering engine, so the implementation of the extension may be different) and YouTube works fine there with that extension enabled.

I experience the same issue almost every time I try to play a YouTube video! I am forced to use Brave or any other browser if I don't want to put up with stop-start-stop-start buffering when using Firefox. So annoying! I really want to support Firefox, but I am being forced to use other browsers that seemingly 'just work' and don't have the YT issue.

The Keynote will be available to stream on apple.com, the Apple Developer app, the Apple TV app, and the Apple YouTube channel. On-demand playback will be available after the conclusion of the stream.

Some videos from a few months ago that I have saved to my camera roll won't play. What comes up is a little loading circle like it is trying to load the video but it never plays. I know for a fact that when the videos were saved, they worked. All of them are saved videos from snapchat, but some work and others don't. Does anyone know how I can solve this problem?

Hi I read your comment and I have tried what you said my videos are still not working , only ones from this month or last month work , I have a video of my baby girls first words that I took last year and it worked fine for over a year I recorded her with my phone and it was fine I was always watching it and ever since I did the iOS 11.0.2 update on my phone two months ago all videos on my phone before December 2017 do not work just keeps saying download error and when I tried what you said it just keeps saying error please try again later do u have any other ideas what could fix this

I figured out something that works for me. This happened and it was super frustrating. Try editing the clip and shaving off a split second from the beginning/end and resave it as a new clip. The new clip played just fine!

I have the same problem still. I was hoping if I transfer the videos from my phone to my laptop something might be different and I could get them working but nope. They don't work on my laptop nor phone. I don't know what to do! Have tried everything on this forum

Further adding to the mysterious issue, I just logged into iCloud on my mac (safari) and non of the said corrupted videos are on iCloud, my phone says they are, they are physically on my iPhone camera roll too.

I read on another forum about transferring the videos to a PC, I did this and the video file is 0kb in size! How did this happen? That's game, set match, the file is GONE unretrievable, doesn't even exisit anymore to be fixed in the first place! I'm so furious with Apple, this is ridiculous!

I spoke to Apple on the phone and the rep continually tried to blame Snapchat, I let him know it couldn't have been snapchats fault because the videos were playing and saved to my camera roll for a good week, it wasn't until I back up to iCloud that they no longer work. I'm devistated, to add insult to injury, I actually pay iCloud for extra storage.

Go to settings on your phone and shut off wifi. The phone provider's network should kick in (like the LTE network), and now try playing the videos. This has been happening to me off and on for years. If on your desktop computer, shut off wifi and plug in directly to the internet with an ethernet cable. Now try playing the videos. Hope this helps.

Click on the video then click on the icon that's on the bottom left that looks like a square with an arrow and it should be there. But Good Luck! I've tried everything and couldn't resolve this issue. My videos still won't play :(

This is exactly why I switched to Google Photos. They let you back everything up to the cloud and then delete on your device to make space. The way Apple handles cloud storage makes so little sense that it took me a while to understand. Wish I had never tried Apple cloud. All it did was create big blank patches in my photos and now won't play my videos. Between trying it out and switching back I know I've lost some things. At least from here on out I won't have to worry.

Me too. But it also says for certain videos that they "no longer exist" or that there's an error if I try to export or edit them. There's also and exclamation point in a circle in the right corner of the videos, some from Snapchat, others recorded straight from my camera. It seems like the videos aren't even there and I don't know what to do to save them.

Connect to wifi and go to settings and see if it's pushing your photos for upload. What's happening is this... your photos have to reload from iCloud but if your not connected to wifi they won't upload automatically. So try that. Similar to when you update iOS. Plug it in and hook up to wifi and fetch the photos back. Let me know if that helps.

The link shows you how to restore/ back etc which is great and I've done this several times. It doesn't fix the issue. Am I missing something in your link? Please somebody have a fix, I've tried everything, duplicating doesn't work, won't let me share, somebody said they "deleted the video then airdropped it", that makes no sense to me. Care to elaborate on details of this "deleting and then air dropping" trick? I'm clutching at strings, there are over 140 saved snapchats from my trip to Europe :(

The videos are from a months ago, so I've backed up my iphone since then. They also can't be sent by imessage or by email or even saved to my dropbox. Camera roll either freezes or says it can't be formatted to send. But videos that do play can be sent.
