Volunteers needed Oct 16 at Lions Park

Volunteers are needed Saturday by the city of Olympia to help weed
flower beds and clean up Lions Park from 9 a.m.-noon.

After the work is done, children are encouraged to stay and play on
the recently installed playground equipment. Volunteers should plan to
meet at 800 Wilson St. S.E., Olympia. Tools, gloves and refreshments
will be provided.

The event is part of the Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation
Department’s Volunteer In Parks series of work parties. Each Saturday
morning, volunteers improve a local park. Volunteers also will help
maintain the trail and plant new trees and shrubs at Mission Creek
Nature Park from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 23.
