Amigos - Friends
dicho.
paz, paciencia, amabilidad, bondad, fidelidad, humildad y dominio
propio(Gal 5: 22-23).

“You are My friends if you do what I command you. I do not call you
slaves anymore, because a slave doesn't know what his master is doing.
I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything
I have heard from My Father. You did not choose Me, but I chose you.
I appointed you that you should go out and produce fruit and that your
fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name,
He will give you.” (John 15: 14-16)
Today there are plenty of choruses and hymns that declare Jesus as our
good friend, the friend who carried all our sin and pain, the one who
is faithful, and many other aspects of Jesus as the ultimate “BFF”.
This is not something that we invented in the contemporary Christian
music movement. Christ was the first one to call us friends. In the
short passage above, the Lord emphasizes the nature of our
friendship. It is a relationship based on obedience, sacrifice, love,
faith, and hope. The concept of friendship is not an emotion, it is a
call to action, to serve, and to bear fruit; not just any fruit but
the fruit that endures. It is a friendship that has built in rewards,
not in the sense of a “Christmas Wish List” rather it brings wisdom,
contentment, true joy, peace, self-control, love, kindness,
gentleness, and faithfulness (Gal 5: 22-23). It is comforting to know
that this friendship is not limited by time, space, distance,
language, physical attributes, financial or social status. This
friendship breaks all barriers, and surpasses all expectations.
