7-2-11 Defensor - Advocate

“Hijitos míos, les escribo estas cosas para que no cometan pecado.
Aunque si alguno comete pecado, tenemos ante el Padre un defensor, que
es Jesucristo, y él es justo. Jesucristo se ofreció en sacrificio
para que nuestros pecados sean perdonados; y no solo los nuestros,
sino los de todo el mundo. Si obedecemos los mandamientos de Dios,
podemos estar seguros de que hemos llegado a conocerlo.” (1 Juan 2:
1-3)

Amados, ¿cuántos anuncios vemos cada día que tratan de abogados,
licenciados y expertos en la ley? Ya sea en la televisión, en la
radio, en la calle, dondequiera que vamos siempre se nos presentan
comerciales de personas que dedican sus vidas y todos sus esfuerzos a
interpretar la ley humana. Esas leyes abogan por una justicia en el
plano físico, en lo material, en los derechos de cada ser humano que
desea vivir en libertad, seguridad y dignidad. Pero esas leyes no
tienen jurisdicción ni vigencia en el plano espiritual. Aunque
tengamos el mejor bufete de abogados expertos y sabios en la ley a
nuestro lado, cuando llega el momento de la verdad; cuando uno se
presenta frente al Dios, Creador del universo, el Autor de nuestra
salvación, entonces, ¿quién se parará y hará justicia por nosotros?
Los que hemos creído y reconocido la soberanía de Dios sobre nuestras
vidas; los que hemos entregado nuestras vidas, todo lo que tenemos y
todo lo que somos a nuestro Señor y Redentor Jesucristo, llevamos
estampados en nuestros corazones y en nuestras mentes un sello que nos
identifica como Sus ovejas, por eso oímos Su voz y le seguimos.
Nosotros tenemos un Defensor que aboga por nosotros frente al Padre.
Cuando llega el enemigo con sus acusaciones y sus trampas, nosotros
podemos decir, juntamente con Pablo, que no hay condenación para
nosotros que estamos en Cristo Jesús, que hemos sido llamados según Su
propósito (Romanos 8:1).

Si en este momento se siente débil, sólo, desamparado y sin nadie que
abogue por usted, eleve una oración a Dios. Háblele con sinceridad,
ya Dios conoce su corazón y todo lo que usted está experimentando
ahora. Él sólo quiere que usted mismo lo reconozca y se atreva a
confesárselo a Él. No hay nada que Él no haya escuchado o visto
antes, ninguno de nuestros pecados o transgresiones le va a sorprender
a Él. Dios sólo busca que nosotros seamos sinceros con Él y nosotros
mismos, que reconozcamos la condición en la cual nos encontramos y que
aceptemos el perdón, redención y salvación que Él nos brinda. Espero
que tome este importante paso hoy y le permita a Jesucristo ser su
defensor ante el Padre Celestial que le espera con brazo abiertos,
listo para abrazarte con amor y compasión. Dios le bendiga.

“My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not
sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus
Christ the righteous One. He Himself is the propitiation for our
sins, and not only for ours, but also for those of the whole world.
This is how we are sure that we have come to know Him: by keeping His
commands. (1John 2: 1-3)

Beloved, how many times a day are we exposed to ads proclaiming the
virtues and strengths of attorneys, lawyers, and experts of the law?
Whether on television, radio, or on the street, wherever we go there
is always something or someone to remind us of those individuals who
dedicate their lives and all their efforts to interpret human law.
These laws call for justice in the physical plane, in the material
world; they focus on the rights of every human being that desires to
live in freedom, safety, and with dignity. But those laws have no
jurisdiction when it comes to spiritual matters. We may have the best
law firm, and the wisest experts of the law on our side, but when it
comes to that single moment of truth; when we come face to face with
God, the Creator of the universe, the Author of our salvation, then,
Who will stand and will do justice for us? Those who have believed and
recognized the sovereignty of God over our lives, those who have given
our lives, all that we have, and everything we are to our Lord and
Redeemer Jesus Christ, we have been sealed, in our hearts and in our
minds, we have been identified as His sheep, that’ why hear His voice
and follow Him. We have a Defender, who advocates for us with the
Father. When the enemy comes with charges and lies, we can declare
with Paul, that there is no condemnation for us who are in Christ
Jesus, who have been called according to His purpose (Romans 8:1).

If at this moment you are feeling weak, alone, helpless or hopeless
and no one seems to be your advocate, go to God in prayer right now.
Speak honestly and from the heart, because God already knows your
heart, all your hurt and pain, and all that you are experiencing right
now. He just wants you to acknowledge it for yourself, and to dare to
confess to Him all that you have done. There is nothing that He has
not heard nor seen before; none of our sins or transgressions is going
to surprise Him, for God only wants us to be honest with Him and
ourselves, to recognize the condition in which we are, and to accept
His forgiveness, His redemption, and the salvation He brings. It is my
prayer and my hope for you to take this important step today and allow
Jesus Christ to be your Advocate with our Father in Heaven who waits
for you with open arms, ready to embrace you with love and compassion.
