“No te alegres de mí, enemiga mía. Aunque caiga, me levantaré, aunque
more en tinieblas, el SEñOR es mi luz.” (Miqueas 7: 8)

El noticiero nos trae reportajes de los sucesos más impactantes y
relevantes de cada día, cierto? En recientes días se habla de la
violencia, los homicidios, tragedias ambientales y ecológicas,
terremotos, tsunamis, escándalos politicos, etc. Todo parece oscuro,
tenebroso y deprimente. Sin embargo, aunque vivimos en medio de las
tinieblas la Palabra de Dios nos asegura que “aunque [moremos] en
tinieblas Jehová será nuestra luz”. Por lo tanto, andemos en la luz
del Señor, tengamos comunión los unos con los otros y, así
experimentaremos la paz que sólo Jesús nos puede dar; esa paz que
sobrepasa el entendimiento humano, paz inigualable, paz que nos
permite descansar aún cuando la naturaleza misma se estremece bajo el
peso del pecado de la humanidad.
Amados, hay que orar. Mantegámonos en oración por nuestros hermanos,
víctimas de los estragos del terremoto en Japón. De la misma manera
oremos por nuestros vecinos que sufren, ya sea por enfermedad, por
falta de amor, por escasez, por violencia doméstica, por falta de
conocimiento, por tantas razones; tengamos compasión de ellos.
En este mundo seremos “perseguidos, pero no abandonados; derribados,
pero no destruidos.” (2 Corintios 4:9) Nuestros enemigos “se
doblegaron y cayeron, pero nosotros nos hemos levantado y nos
mantenemos en pie.” (Salmos 20:8) Si caemos, no quedaremos
derribados, porque el SEñOR nos sostiene con Su mano. (Salmos 37:24)
Hoy declaramos por la Palabra “El SEñOR es mi luz y mi salvación; ¿A
quién temeré? El SEñOR es la fortaleza de mi vida; ¿De quién tendré
temor? (Salmos 27:1)

Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light.” (Micah 7: 8)

The news programs bring us reports of the most impactful and relevant
events of each day, right? In recent days, there is talk about
violence, murders, environmental and ecological tragedies,
earthquakes, tsunamis, political scandals, etc. Everything seems
dark, gloomy and depressing. However, while living in the midst of
darkness God's Word assures us that "although [we dwell] in darkness
the Lord is our light." Therefore, walk in the light of God, have
fellowship with each other and experience the peace that only Jesus
can give us, that peace that surpasses human understanding,
unparalleled peace, peace that allows us to rest even when nature
shudders under the weight of humanity’s sin.
Beloved, we must pray. We need to remain in prayer for our brothers
and sisters, victims of the ravages of the earthquake in Japan. In
the same manner we need to pray for our neighbors who suffer, whether
due to illness, lack of love, financial struggles, domestic violence,
lack of knowledge, for so many reasons, we need to show our compassion
for them.
We may be “persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not
destroyed.” (2 Corinthians 4: 9) Our enemies “are brought to their
knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.” (Psalm 20:8) “Though
[we may] stumble, [we] will not fall, for the LORD upholds [us] with
His hand.”(Psalm 37:24) Today we declare with the Word, “The LORD is
my light and my salvation--whom shall I fear? The LORD is the
stronghold of my life--of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)
