“Indeed, the LORD's hand is not too short to save, and His ear is not
too deaf to hear.” (Isaiah 59: 1)
I love to read this verse and I need to return to it frequently
because of the way it ministers to my heart. The context for these
verses is that God lets His people know how many different ways they
have been unfaithful to the covenant that they had agreed to observe.
The list of charges goes on for a few chapters, yet in the middle of
the rebuke God shows His character, and lets them know that His
constant love is still available, and that He will send a Saviour to
them.
Indeed God’s hand has not been reduced, shortened or taken away from
humanity. No matter how bold and ferocious the enemy’s attacks may
be; no matter how deep the valley of depression; no matter how far we
may think we have run away from God, His hand still stretches out to
us and over us. He will still hear our cry, if there is breath in
your body and a conscious thought in your mind, He will respond. We
don’t have to scream or yell or throw a tantrum, a simple whisper will
do.

“El poder del Señor no ha disminuido como para no poder salvar, ni Él
se ha vuelto tan sordo como para no poder oir. (Isaías 59: 1)
Me gusta leer y releer este versículo porque me ministra de manera
singular cada vez. El contexto de éste es que Dios le declara al
pueblo israelita las muchas maneras en que ellos no habían cumplido
con el pacto que habían hecho con el Señor. La lista de cargos se
extiende a través de varios capítulos y a su vez Dios también muestra
Su carácter misericordioso y les promete un Salvador.
Ciertamente la mano de Dios no se ha cortado, Su poder no ha
disminuido, ni se ha retirado de la humanidad. No importa cuán
fuertes ni feroces sean los ataques del enemigo; no importa cuán
profundo sea el valle de la depresión en que nos encontramos, no
importa cuán lejos pensemos que nos encontramos de Dios, Su mano se
extiende hacia nosotros y sobre nosotros. Su oído está presto a
escuchar; no tenemos que gritar, ni alzar mucho la voz, no hay que
tirarse al piso a patalear tampoco, con tan sólo un susurro, El nos
escuchará.
