4-22-11 Salvacion - Salvation

Pero Dios prueba que nos ama, en que, cuando todavía éramos pecadores,
Cristo murió por nosotros. Y ahora, después que Dios nos ha hecho
justos mediante la muerte de Cristo, con mayor razón seremos salvados
del castigo final por medio de él. Porque si Dios, cuando todavía
éramos sus enemigos, nos reconcilió consigo mismo mediante la muerte
de su Hijo, con mayor razón seremos salvados por su vida, ahora que ya
estamos reconciliados con él. Y no solo esto, sino que también nos
gloriamos en Dios mediante nuestro Señor Jesucristo, pues por Cristo
hemos recibido ahora la reconciliación. (Romanos 5: 8-11)

Hoy conmemoramos un momento singular en la historia colectiva de los
seguidores de Cristo. Es el momento que nos marca, nos sella y nos
separa de todo lo que éramos antes. Por ese sacrificio en la cruz del
Calvario somos perdonados y hechos justos. Cuando Cristo, ya
exhausto, casi sin sentido, con la última gota de sangre y esfuerzo
exclama, “¡Consumado es!”, nuestra deuda, la consecuencia de nuestro
pecado, que es muerte, queda saldada por siempre. ¡Gloria a Dios!
¡Gracias Y’shua! ¡Te exaltamos, oh Espíritu Santo!

Por eso canto hoy el himno “Salvación” (Doris Machín). Si lo conoces
cántalo conmigo, si no, pues medita en la hermosa letra a seguir,

Fui hecha justa sin merecerlo
Mi culpa ya cubierta está
Toda mi deuda quedó saldada
En la persona del Cordero Inmortal

Salvación, camino angosto
Plenitud incomparable, don de Dios
Una cruz cubierta en sangre
Fue necesario para nuestra redención

Regenerada y transformada
Cambié mi m ente y mi forma de actuar
Hoy sólo anhelo servir a Cristo
Y ser la luz, la sal, un claro manantial

Santificada soy por Jesucristo
Me acerco a Él y obtengo más consagración
El enemigo está vencido
Hoy demos todos Gloria a Dios
Porque Él triunfó.

But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners
Christ died for us! Much more then, since we have now been declared
righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from wrath. For
if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death
of His Son, [then how] much more, having been reconciled, will we be
saved by His life! And not only that, but we also rejoice in God
through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received
reconciliation. (Romans 5: 8-11)

Today we commemorate a singular and extraordinary event in the
collective history of those who have chosen to follow Christ. It is
THE moment that marks us, seals us, and separates us from what we used
to be. Through that sacrifice on the cross at Calvary we were
forgiven and made righteous. When Christ, already exhausted,
breathless, with the last drop of blood and strength left in His
macerated body, exclaims, “It is finished!”, our debt, the consequence
of our sin, which is death, is paid in full forever. Praise God!
Thank You Jesus! We exalt You, oh Holy Spirit!

Today I can sing the hymn “Salvation” (Doris Machín). I have
translated it to English and we can meditate on the words below,

I was made righteous though I did not deserve it,
My guilt and sin has been covered.
All of my debt has been paid in full,
In the person of the Ever Living Lamb.

Salvation, a narrow path,
Fullness and joy without comparison, a gift from God
A cross covered in blood
Was necessary for our redemption

I am renewed and transformed
Changed my mind and my behavior
Today, my only desire is to serve Christ
To be the light, the salt, a clear river flowing

I am sanctified because of Jesus Christ
As I get closer to Him, I become even more consecrated.
The enemy has been defeated!
So, let us all Praise the LORD,
For He has triumphed!
