¿Qué le pasó a Simón el fariseo al pasar juicio sobre la joven que con
sus lágrimas lavó los pies del maestro y con aceite fragante los
ungió? El Señor en finas palabras lo reprendió y perdonó los pecados
de la mujer. (Lucas 7: 36-50) ¿Qué pasó cuando los fariseos trajeron
a una mujer adúltera para probarle? sin decir una palabra audible,
Cristo demostró su capacidad para ejercer justicia divina y perdonó
los pecados de la mujer. (Juan 8 1-11) Una y otra vez, Jesucristo
mostró en su ministerio lo que muchos hoy día hemos olvidado. Nos
paramos en las plazas y lugares públicos a “orar y predicar” empleando
las mismas estrategias que utilizan las grandes empresas, tratamos el
evangelio como si fuera algo que se mercadea, nos atacamos los unos a
los otros y provocamos ira, celos, el “quítate tú que aquí mando yo”,
nos escondemos detrás de etiquetas y títulos que sólo corresponden al
Señor otorgarlos. Cuando pensamos en estas cosas el corazón se
entristece y el alma se duele. Tanto trabajo que hacer y estamos
perdiendo el tiempo en discusiones y argumentos que nos distraen, y no
cumplimos con la misión que Cristo nos encomendó. Amados, recordemos
que Dios no distingue entre un pecado y otro, que no hace ascepción de
personas sino que a todos nos extiende Su mano salvadora, llena de
gracia y misericordia, nos perdona y nos dice que vayamos en paz.

“Queridos hermanos, debemos amarnos unos a otros, porque el amor viene
de Dios. Todo el que ama es hijo de Dios y conoce a Dios. El que no
ama no ha conocido a Dios, porque Dios es amor. Dios mostró su amor
hacia nosotros al enviar a su Hijo único al mundo para que tengamos
vida por él. El amor consiste en esto: no en que nosotros hayamos
amado a Dios, sino en que él nos amó a nosotros y envió a su Hijo,
para que, ofreciéndose en sacrificio, nuestros pecados quedaran
perdonados. Queridos hermanos, si Dios nos ha amado así, nosotros
también debemos amarnos unos a otros. A Dios nunca lo ha visto nadie;
pero si nos amamos unos a otros, Dios vive en nosotros y su amor se
hace realidad en nosotros. La prueba de que nosotros vivimos en Dios
y de que él vive en nosotros, es que nos ha dado su Espíritu. Y
nosotros mismos hemos visto y declaramos que el Padre envió a su Hijo
para salvar al mundo. Cualquiera que reconoce que Jesús es el Hijo de
Dios, vive en Dios y Dios en él. Así hemos llegado a saber y creer
que Dios nos ama. Dios es amor, y el que vive en el amor, vive en Dios
y Dios en él. (1 Juan 4: 7-16)

What happened to Simon the Pharisee when he passed judgment on the
young woman who washed the feet of the Master with her tears and
anointed them with fragrant oil? The Lord rebuked him with gentle
words, and forgave the sins of the woman.(Luke 7: 36-50) What
happened when the Pharisees brought a woman caught in the act of
adultery to test him? Without a single audible remark Christ
demonstrated his ability to exercise divine justice and forgave the
sins of the woman.(John 8 1-11) Time after time Jesus showed in His
ministry what many of us have forgotten today. We stand in the streets
and public places to "pray and preach," employing the same strategies
used by large companies to promote their products; we treat the gospel
as something that is to be marketed; we attack each other and promote
anger, jealousy, an attitude of "get out of my way ‘cause I'm in
charge here"; we hide behind labels and titles that belong only to the
Lord to grant. When we think of these things our hearts are saddened
and the soul hurts. There is so much work to do and we are wasting
time on discussions and arguments that distract us, and we do not
fulfill the mission that Christ gave us. Beloved, let us remember that
God does not distinguish between one sin and another. He extends the
same healing and saving hand to one and all; full of grace and mercy,
He forgives us and tells us to go in peace.

“Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and
everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. The one who
does not love does not know God, because God is love. God's love was
revealed among us in this way: God sent His One and Only Son into the
world so that we might live through Him. Love consists in this: not
that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the
propitiation for our sins. Dear friends, if God loved us in this way,
we also must love one another. No one has ever seen God. If we love
one another, God remains in us and His love is perfected in us.
This is how we know that we remain in Him and He in us: He has given
to us from His Spirit. And we have seen and we testify that the
Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. Whoever confesses
that Jesus is the Son of God—God remains in him and he in God. And we
have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is
love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains
in him.” (1 John 4: 7-16)
