5-27-11 Planes - Plans

Los planes son del hombre; la palabra final la tiene el Señor. Al
hombre le parece bueno todo lo que hace, pero el Señor es quien juzga
las intenciones. Pon tus actos en las manos del Señor y tus planes se
realizarán. (Proverbios 16: 1-3)

Yo anhelo lograr tantas cosas; entre ellas publicar estas
reflexiones. De hecho, una de mis hermosas amiguitas fue la que
sembró esa semillita en mí y de vez en cuando me lo recuerda y me
anima a hacerlo. Me pregunto, pues, ¿cuál es el primer paso? Unos me
dicen investiga cuáles son las casas editoriales para este tipo de
manuscrito, otros dicen debes buscar un agente, etc. La Palabra me
dice que el primer paso es poner mis “actos en las manos del Señor”
porque es Dios quién abrirá o cerrará las puertas para llevar a cabo
estos planes.

Antes de tomar decisiones, antes de poner en marcha nuestros planes,
consideremos primeramente ponerlo todo en las manos del Señor.
Debemos asesorarnos con Él antes de salir corriendo y si tenemos que
esperar, esperemos. Esperemos en oración, esperemos en ayuno,
esperemos pacientemente reconociendo que será Dios quien juzgará
nuestras intenciones. Si lo que estamos planeando no es para la
gloria del Señor, seguramente no tendrá éxito duradero. Por lo tanto,
evaluemos y analicemos bien siempre teniendo en cuenta la siguiente
pregunta, ¿quién será glorificado en esto?

The reflections of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the
tongue is from the LORD. All a man's ways seem right in his own eyes,
but the LORD weighs the motives. Commit your activities to the LORD,
and your plans will be achieved. (Proverbs 16: 1-3)

I would just love to be able to accomplish so many things, including
publishing these reflections. As a matter of fact, it was one of my
dearest friends who first planted that seed in me and will
occasionally remind me and encourage me. So, I dare ask myself, where
do I begin? What is the first step? Some people tell me to research
for the right publisher; others tell me to get an agent, etc. The
Word tells me that the first thing I need to do is “commit [all my]
activities to the Lord” because ultimately He will be the One to open
or close the doors to get this done.

Before making any decisions, or putting any plans to work, let’s put
everything in His hands, first and foremost. We need to get His input
before we hit the ground running; and if we have to wait, we wait.
Let’s wait and pray, let’s wait and fast, let’s patiently wait on the
Lord knowing and recognizing that God will judge the intentions of our
hearts. If what we are planning is not for His glory, surely it will
not have lasting success. Therefore, think and evaluate all things,
always keeping in mind the following question, Who will be glorified
in all this?
