Masterfully engineered by GRAMMY -Award-winner Simon Rhodes in the legendary space of Abbey Road Studio One, and performed by world-renowned percussionist Joby Burgess, Metal Percussion takes sampling to new heights to incite you to add more inspired percussion, with shimmering metallic textures, shattering hits and otherworldly sounds.

Expertly captured by Simon Rhodes (Avatar, The Banshees of Inisherin), Metal Percussion encapsulates a thoughtfully curated collection of versatile and diverse percussive instruments. Inclusive of both classic orchestral staples, such as a variety of cymbals and crashes, and more eclectic cinematic sounds and texture, such as the Oil Drum, Waterphone and Giant Crasher, this library truly inspires organic composition.

Simon joined the EMI Abbey Road Studios in 1987. He is now Senior Engineer and has a long standing association with various composers including the late James Horner with whom he worked for 18 years on over 40 projects including Avatar, one of the highest grossing films of all time.

Recalls discrete right and left hand performances on adjacent keys, tapping into the distinct timbral difference between each sticking hand. This allows the programming or playing of true-to-life rudiments when needed.

Playing a hit when a roll key is held will interrupt (choke) the roll. This allows for very tight roll ends to be played in using a single hit. In Metal Percussion this extends to single note cymbal hits, allowing choked ('secco') cymbal hits to interrupt the ringing of preceding hits.

Roll dynamics become velocity sensitive whilst still maintaining modwheel functionality, allowing rolls to be triggered sympathetically and intuitively when playing without having to set the position of the modwheel. The modwheel remains active, however, with the option of being able to crescendo/diminuendo if desired.

Abbey Road One is a range of ensemble libraries captured in Studio One at Abbey Road, created by Spitfire Audio in partnership with Abbey Road Studios. This is made up of a core library called Abbey Road One: Orchestral Foundations, and then smaller libraries called Abbey Road One: Film Scoring Selections series.

The Selections are smaller and more focused libraries inspired by classic films, offering pre-orchestrated instrument pairings and themes. Featuring pre-arranged ensembles of classic orchestral pairings, each Selection is designed to help you accomplish a simple task phenomenally well.

Over the coming years, Spitfire will release each section of the orchestra, bit by bit in huge detail. Similar to that of the BML / Sable range in Spitfire's history, each section can be purchased separately to suit your needs.

The practical difference is that each Abbey Road Orchestra release will install into the same plugin, ensuring you don't need to load multiple different libraries as it will all be housed in one plugin.

There are many crashers on the market. Most of them feature several differently shaped and arranged metal sheets. They provide the drummer with hard, short, cutting crashing sounds. Our approach here is a little different. Our experience with the BuzzBoards led to the approach to make this exact sound system playable via sticks with a wider dynamic range. Thus, the DynaCrasher was developed with wooden panels with a snare carpet on a solid wood carrier. This design allows for quiet hand playing that instantly produces snare or sizzle sounds at low volumes. Still, there's penetrating crasher sounds when playing with sticks at high volumes, such as drum set groove arrangements. Two adjustment screws take care of the buzz/crash sustain setting. Even though it's wood, the playing surface material is densified to withstand forklifts and other heavy machinery. We have not been able to harm the surface with any tool in the drummer's arsenal. So we offer two versions for different applications.DC280 is the percussion version, which is fixed on a surface by Velcro (the number stands for the length in mm) DC280M is mountable via our woodblock mount, suitable for any standard percussion rod with 9-10mm diameter.A great addition to any percussion or drum setup.

The Schlagwerk sound experts are among the best percussionists in the world. With their sound they have pushed the limits of what is possible and created their unique sound world. And they stand for the sound of Schlagwerk.

The new MEINL Turbo Crasher will be a must for drummers and percussionists of all genres who want to add a different colour to their set up. This percussion accessory can be placed on any rod and will give you a nice short crashing sound.
