EMU1212 newbie

Hi!

I have just installed a EMU1212 in in my HTPC running Ubuntu Studio 12-.04 LTS.

I installed alsa-firmware and as far as I understand all is there, but I get no sound.

I found emutrix and it gives a better overview than alsamixer. But still no sound.

However, I realize that my real problem is that I do not understand the alsa terminology (ADAT, DSP, Dock, etc.) and I don´t know what is what.

I ask you to help me find a description/documentation on how the EMU1010 + 0202 works in the alsa context.

I think I understand the interconnect matrix concept, but it does not help if you don't know what the plugs are.

Flame me all you want, but this is my question.
