Hi,

I was trying to start again with my Emulab installation but I'm stuck in the following step.

Adding boss/ops/fs IP addresses to /etc/hosts     [ Succeeded ] (16:19:31)

Checking to make sure names for boss/ops/fs resolve

|                                                 [ Failed    ]

+-----------------------------------------------> [ Failed    ]

##### Installation failed in phase resolve:

 does not resolve

-------------------- Phase Stack ----------------------------

resolve    Checking to make sure names for boss/ops/fs resolve

As you can see is the initial configuration of ops

Boss and Ops can ping each other, I've got a DNS in between and the can also resolve via DNS, I add in the /etc/hosts the address of each and I can as well ping by name.

Anything else I could check to follow the installation process?

Thanks!

I create my own resolver as the installation scripts use it from https://docstore.mik.ua/orelly/perl4/cook/ch18_02.htm test it out of the installation process and it works, so that's why I can't get it to understand what can be the problem.

Thanks!!

The above message should print "$name does not resolve" so
in your case at appears that $name is NULL. Make sure that @BOSSNODE@
and @USERNODE@ are set in your defs- file.

Thanks, Mike!

You were right!! I was giving an incorrect defs file :(

Now at least Ops is installed even I've seen and apache2 error with the certificate files.

Did I have to create them manually and copy to /usr/local/etc/apache24/ssl.key/ folder or the installation has to create them for me?

Thanks!!

Hi. Certs will be created and installed on ops, when you run the boss installation.
Self signed certs of course.
