Hello!

In my attempt to sync the save files/states between my laptop and android phone I'm struggling to load either way. Is there a difference in formats or default HW-settings?
I am unable to get any .sav or .sta belonging to unit A to load in unit B or the other way around.

Do the files need converting of some sort, or are certain functions missing from the android client? Like .sta import?

Thanks :)

I am not sure what program you are running on your PC. If it is VGBA,
the .sav files should be compatible. If it is VBA or some other
emulator, VGBA-Android should be load VBA .sav files, but not the vice
versa.

For .sta/.frz files (these are the same thing), the compatibility is
only guaranteed for the same version of VGBA: they contain too much
internal data to be portable.

Sorry about the double post. Bad internet connection. Thought the other one didn't get through :)

How are the .sav files loaded in the android client? Automatically using the same filename? Or through advanced -> Load file?
When trying from PC to Android I either get corrupted save file or save file was deleted.

Either use the same filename with the .sta extension (then it will be
loaded automatically), or give it .frz/.frz.2/.frz.3/etc extension and
load it with the "Restore" menu option.

I've tried the following:
.sav from PC.
Android always says it's corrupted. Works when I load it in PC client again.

.sta from PC doesn't do anything in android. Renaming to .frz.x won't help. Nothing happens on restore.

Tried going the other way. Renaming the frz.x from android to .sta and load on PC. Nothing...
I'm noticing that in some cases (frz.x) the .GBA ending is used. .GBA.frz.1 for example. I'm suspecting this may have something to do with it?

When I try to load the .sta files on the android client I just get a white screen.

All saves and sta I'm trying are new and made from your clients. No VBA involved(yet)

Any ideas?

As I have said before, .STA files are not guaranteed to be portable
between VGBA versions. .SAV files should be portable though. Email me
one that presumably does not work and I will look at it.
