Trying to get Modem Chess to run on ColEm

I'm wondering if anyone can offer any advice for trying to get the game "Modem Chess" to run on ColEm? This is a Coleco Adam game. I was able to get a different game to work without any problems, but for this game the emulator just comes up with a blank screen and nothing happens.
