Dear Mikel,

Yes, the correlation values from the refinement are not normalized between 0 and 1. They are 'sum of products', i.e. they depend on the number of pixels being compared - they are usually in the thousands. This is similar to SPIDER. I recommend using SEGREFINE3DPLOT to extract the values from the entire data set in a histogram. This gives you an idea of your distribution and how you would like to exclude lower values.

If the error keeps on occurring could you send the entire error message?

Best wishes,

Carsten

Dear Carsten,

I have some doubts regarding Spring use, maybe you can help me out.

I am trying to select segments using their correlation. In the segmentrefine module there are three consecutive options:

-Projection correlation select option
-Include-exclude
-Correlation range

The point is that in the correlation range windows, the help says to choose the values and gives 0.5-1.0 as an example. The windows, however, do not allow for decimals. The correlation that I have observed in previous runs are not normalized to 1, they have values in the thousand range. So, I do not how to proceed. I did try twice as a continuation of the refinement and the program gives a "normalization error" message.

Please, could you help me in this?

Best and thanks in advance.
