micctfdetermine crash report

I am working with the instructions provided by the SPRING turtorial (Spring_Turtorial_v12_Dec12.pdf) as provided on the webpage (https://spring.fz-juelich.de/tutorial.html).

While on the micctfdetermine tab (Intermediate-level user view/Additional parameter level: Intermediate). Setting the Temporary directory to a folder crashes the software. I have tried to use different folder with no success. Running the same step using Additional parameter level: Beginner with less parameters appears to work (files are generated). 

Unrelated to the above. When running micctfdetermine using one micrograph as Input, pressing 'Open result' next to the Diagnostic plot pattern does not open "A plot with three columns" as indicated by the turtorial. When running several micrographs a Choose files windows is opened, but selecting and opening any PDF appears to crash the opened window. I've included one of the PDFs below. The key values presented by the turtorial (e.g., predicted and observed power spectra and defocus values) appears to be available. I thought to include this for completeness.

Could you attach the report .log file of MICCTFDETERMINE? Are the executable of CTFFIND running? I will be able to give you more detailed hint on the error messages.
