emsdk install latest - HTTP Error 403: Forbidden

Hi everyone,

I get this error when I try to update emscripten. Does anyone else can reproduce this error?

I'm on OSX, and there it works, but is is using a slightly different download URL:

https://s3.amazonaws.com/mozillagames/emscripten/packages/llvm/tag/osx_64bit/emscripten-llvm-e1.37.9.tar.gz

Trying to access the Linux 64-bit URL like in your case in a browser returns an access denied page (while trying the same with the OSX URL starts a download)

Notice that the quoted linux URL has “mozilla-games” while the OS-X one has “mozillagames”. Also notice that the quoted linux URL includes trailing quote & colon characters. Removing the latter doesn’t change anything. Removing the hyphen from mozilla-games gets rid of the access denied and gets the same result as the OS-X URL. For me just pasting these URLs into a web browser this result is another error: NoSuchBucket.

Hmm, can you try that again? The download does work for me when trying out today. I wonder if there might have been an outage or something like that.

The URL should have mozilla-games in it: i.e. the file https://s3.amazonaws.com/mozilla-games/emscripten/packages/llvm/tag/osx_64bit/emscripten-llvm-e1.37.9.tar.gz does download properly for me. Tried to search through the emsdk script to see if there might have existed a typo "mozillagames" vs "mozilla-games", but could not find one with a brief glance. Does the issue still persist?

Hi Jukka, I'm still getting the same HTTP 403 error for "emsdk install
latest", however using "sdk-tag-1.37.12-64bit" works...

This is a known issue that was caused by
https://github.com/kripken/emscripten/issues/5272#issuecomment-306197338.
Installing sdk-tag-1.37.12-64bit in the meanwhile is a good
workaround.
