Hi,

I noticed that CircleCI now redirects me to a login / connect your
github account when I want to access an emscripten build log, e.g.
https://circleci.com/gh/emscripten-core/emscripten/363781

(actually it starts displaying the log, then redirects me anyway)

The login page mentions "We ask for read/write access to make your
experience seamless on CircleCI" which is not engaging.

Is this known?

Cheers!
Sylvain

I believe you are the first to mention this.

Did this change recently?  Maybe search circleci forums discussions for background?   If you discover this is something configurable on the emscripten end please let is know and we can adjust the relevant settings.

cheers,
sam

Hi,

I don't use circleci outside of a limited outsider access in emscripten
so I can't help further than this. This is easily verifiable by opening
the link in a private browser window.

Right, its just clear if there is anything we can or should do about it.

Do you have a concrete suggestion?

It doesn't seem to be related to emscripten specifically but rather the circleci itself.

cheers,
sam

Hi,

I'd say contact your CI provider and tell them that their recent
unannounced policy changes hinders contribution to your project.

Cheers!

I agree this is definitely annoying and unexpected - it should be easy for someone submitting a PR to see build results. I opened a support ticket now.

Thanks for reporting this Sylvain!

I received a response that this is a known issue in CircleCI's new UI, and that they are working on it.

This may be a little annoying in the meantime. If anyone opens a PR and has trouble viewing CI runs, let me know.
