The game has three main modes: Ninja Escapades, Ninja World Tournament, and Free Battle. Ninja Escapades is a story mode that consists of three chapters: The Creation of the Akatsuki, The Two Uchiha, and The Far Reaches of Hope. Each chapter features a cinematic animation and a series of battles that follow the events of the Naruto Shippuden anime. The Creation of the Akatsuki shows how the rogue ninja group was formed and how they recruited their members.
