HL7 C-CDA Continuity of Care Document to NEMSIS Transformation Published

I have published a new XSL transformation that extracts information from an HL7 C-CDA R2.1 Continuity of Care Document (CCD) representing a patient’s hospital emergency department and inpatient encounters and transforms it into the NEMSIS “eOutcome” format. It joins the previously-published Discharge-Summary-to-NEMSIS transformation to further support getting hospital outcome data in NEMSIS. If an EMS software system can obtain either a CCD or a Discharge Summary, these tools can be used to transform the data into the NEMSIS eOutcome format.
Along with the transformation file, I’ve added a pair of sample documents: a CCD encompassing a patient’s emergency department and inpatient encounters, and the resulting NEMSIS output.

If you have access to hospital CCDs or Discharge Summaries representing post-EMS encounters, I invite you to run these transformations on them and review the results. Please share feedback with me to further improve these resources.
