We've finally found a standpipe design that's robust, easy to use, and
not too expensive. I've put a PDF file in the files section here.

For years we've struggled with the problem of designing a moveable
standpipe that would not be jammed by the plastic media and that, like
everything else in the Emriver Em2, be nearly bulletproof. This one
seems to be it. This design also has the advantage of a clear acrylic
standpipe, which allows you to view stanpipe height above the box
floor by simply looking inside the pipe.

We are offering the new design to existing Emriver users who'd like to
upgrade for our *cost* which is $60.00. We'll soon be emailing all
Emriver owners with this news. Contact us if you're interested in an
upgrade.

Thanks,

Steve

If you are retrofitting, note that the new design does *not* use a
ring gasket between the fitting and the aluminum box--as noted in the
instructional PDF, you want some water to leak here to allow the
"groundwater" from the Em2 an outlet other than the stanpipe itself.

So don't use the old gasket--use only the parts that come with your
retrofit kit.

Note to users of the new Em2 standpipe:
The polycarbonate standpipe has been lubricated with a waterproof, non-
curing silicone grease to allow smooth action against the rubber seal.
Although we expect the silicone to last for many uses, we are now
including a small tube of silicone with each Em2 standpipe to enable
users to re-grease the standpipe if necessary. Please see the PDF in
the "Files" section for more details.
