I hope all is well. I can't believe how fast time flies and that it's been 7 months since I was with EMAT. I miss the team and hope to reconnect sometime soon in the future! (Mexico?)
For now, I'd like to share some exciting news on a project I'm involved in my new role at UC Berkeley. It's the upcoming launch of the third annual Bay Area Global Health Innovation Challenge. The Challenge provides a transformational opportunity to students from undergraduates to postdocs from institutions all over the world to receive mentorship from experts, exposure to premier forward-thinking organizations, and financial support to accelerate their global health innovations to impact.
The next Challenge will launch in January 2018 with registration open for all student teams January 23-February 7, 2018. The registration period will be followed by a selection of teams who will be asked to send a slide deck and/or video submission for the second round by early March 2018. Ten finalist teams will then be selected that will then participate in workshops, networking events, and a pitch event planned for early May 2018 in San Francisco.
Further information about the
Challenge can be found on
our website. Teams will be able to register for the
Challenge on the website starting
January 23, 2018. A prospectus describing the
Challenge is also attached.
I kindly request your help in spreading the word about the Challenge through your student networks at MUHAS so we can ensure a dynamic and exciting competition that is representative of many institutions from around the world. I also saw in our archived photos that Bitta had competed in prior years! I'd love to see some Tanzanian representation at the Challenge again.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Best regards,
Elizabeth
