Just a reminder that we will be having a 'Marketplace' demonstration
on Wednesday evening where anyone who has software, tools, techniques,
etc. can present these in an informal session.

We would like to encourage everyone to participate in this
marketplace. We call it a marketplace not because you are selling
software but because you are 'selling' your ideas.

If you would like to present something, please make a note on this
page so we can plan enough space for everyone.

See you all next week.

Is the EMR workshop had an impact on the use of data? please team, we need to be in communication channel to ensure that, the medical record data are in use and more practical. please WHO you need to organise an extensive training on the use of electronic data esp for the medical records so as to improve patient care and treatment. The one done in Tanzania last year contributed alot but not enough.

Thanks,

The impact of EMR Workshop is important regarding the unique identification of patient record . Private hospital here are thinking about it and some are trying to start .
Yes this was very fruitfull workshop held in Tanzania last year and suggest that there is a need to organize training workshop on EMR / use of electronic data using open source & customize EMR software.

Many Thanks & Regards,

Dear all,

There is no doubt that the EMR in Tanzania was very fruitfull. After that workshop some us realised our weaknesses and we have worked on them.Technical people in the area of data managment put together alot canbe achieved through sharing.

One important i realized in the workshop ,is that we all face simillar challanges in our areas of profession, and one two have had the similar challange and overcame it.We need these kinds of meeting and most importantly now we should concertrate on customization/automation of Our Medical Records.

I agree with the comments above. One of the important items we picked
from TZ was the need to have a national EMRS. We are moving fast on
this in Kenya, though we all appreciate that it is an enormous task.

Could we activate the workshop wiki and turn it into a more vibrant
site to enhance information interchange, or the progress in each
country as concerns the various action items from TZ?

Hello Folks

I quite agree to the rest of the team we need to utilize Data Demand Information Use within our Health facilities .So far I'm promoting Data Use Culture within our 95 Health facilities and Continue Quality Assurance within four regions at Tanzania. We have deployed IQTools (for data validation and linking purpose) and CTC2 (for patient management monitoring system). In additional we are utilizing Pharmacy Module Tools for drugs management. Through the use of Pharmacy Tools I have manage to identify the list of Patients who are taking drugs at pharmacy department while their names appear to be "Lost to Follow Up" or Terminated at ART Clinic .As a results of IQTools package we have manage to link the two database in order to identify the true defaulters and update accordingly. As part of best practices we are promoting the health facilities to share the list of Transfer In (TI) and Transfer Out (TO) in order they can reduce the number of "Lost To Follow Up Patients”. I would like to know for this year where the training workshop is going to be held (country and date) including the registration process (URL).

Hello everyone

We currently do not have a followup meeting planned for the Tanzania
data use workshop, however, judging from the discussion that's been
happening over the last few days, its clear there's not only
interest, but the actual followup was already done by many of you by
integrating and applying material and methods from the workshop into
your work - Would you be willing to post more detail about your
projects and activities to either this list or the wiki? we would
then be able to organize a more concrete and useful followup event or
activity.
If you wish to use the wiki, it is still active, you can access it
here:

http://www.healthmetricsnetwork.info/dokuwiki/doku.php

If you do not remember your password, the system can email you a new
one - If you dont remember your username, you can create a new account
on the wiki

regards,

Philippe

Hi Mark,
I would like to request that in the fourth coming workshop, we also allow companies showcase medical records software that is already in place especially in Africa to scale up the marketplace, i hope these proposals can come through to you and something good can be added to EMRS and Health Informatics,
Thanks

Dear All,

Happy to receive this email after so many months, its good to see that
the things are progressing. Lot of efforts are required to promote EMR
data & its use. In Pakistan we are in the implementation Phase of DHIS
which have focus on Service & performance indicators , faraway from
individual electronic patient record . Health Managers & data users
are now much sensitised with the importance of Health Information .
WHO should take lead in organising workshops & extend support in this
regard. It is very interesting to be be part of this activity.
