In Against the Storm, we build new settlements, obtain raw materials necessary to expand the royal citadel and face difficult conditions in the wilderness. Against the Storm is a city builder strategy game enriched with solutions taken from the roguelike genre. The production was developed by the independent Polish studio Eremite Games. Plot Against the Storm takes us on a journey to a fantastic world inhabited by people, beavers and lizards. The land is struggling with Blightstorm – a powerful storm that periodically destroys everything in its path. During the game, we play the role of a viceroy, commissioned by the ruler, to acquire resources necessary to rebuild and improve the capital Smouldering City. To do this, we must build new settlements in the wilderness and bravely face adversities. In Against the Storm, the action is shown from a bird’s eye view. The game takes place to the rhythm of three rainy seasons, varying in terms of rainfall intensity and storm violence. As managers of a newly established settlement, we must focus primarily on its continuous expansion. This requires us to constantly clear the forest, acquire raw materials, build various structures and create complex production chains. Among the available buildings, the most important are gatherer camps that allow the exploitation of natural resources and workshops that produce various goods.
