Technical issues with google accounts

As I work for a large council I usually use a networked computer and can't download as this is controlled by BT.  Google talk appears to require this but I can probably use a non-networked computer for Monday.  This may be an issue for others too.

 

Any suggestions???

I'm afraid we're going to come up against lots of access issues and barriers in general. This miniMOOC is a pilot and part of that is to find out what the access issues are for people as part of the action research process. I know that Marc Forrester, who has also joined us in this MOOC, is working on stage two of the ' Digitally Agile' project and believe he'll be looking at access issues in more depth and how the CLD sector in Scotland can break down some of these barriers. There's a whole discussion within iDevelop>CPD Forum>Digitally Agile ...are we? but I think we should keep this conversation about access issues going here because it's very pertinent.

I'm sorry I can't be of more use, I think that a lot of people will use their own laptops to bypass the restrictions...

CEC operates with IE6 and Firefox 6 generally.  I have IE8 and this won't allow me to access wikispaces.  However, Firefox 6 will.

I can't access blogs etc via my Highland Council pc, but am lucky to be able to WFH today so I can join in using my Mac at home

How's it going with access? Are you able to download Google Chrome? Participants of this MOOC are saying that it works much better than IE & Firefox for getting access to our wiki page and acompanying links.
