Co-production is increasingly being recognised as a new way to deliver public services and an approach which delivers long term positive outcomes for people and for local communities.

In response to the growing interest in co-production in Scotland from those working across a range of sectors, aScottish Co-production Network has been established. The group is chaired jointly by NHS Tayside and SCDC and has recently received support from Scottish Government Joint Improvement Team to be formally established in 2012-13. The network is being coordinated by Olivia Hanley oli...@scdc.org.uk who you can contact for further information about how to join.

At the moment, we are developing a website and interactive forum for members of the network which is due to be live in August 2012. In the meantime, we would like to use this section of our own site to facilitate shared learning by storing relevant resources and posting news and events relating to co-production. If you have anything you would like uploaded to the site, please contact Olivia Hanley on oli...@scdc.org.uk.

In support of the work on co-production in Scotland, nef and NESTA's Lab host a Scotland group on their Co-production Practitioner's Network site. This resource provides a forum for debate and an opportunity to link to other national networks, and will be linked to the Scottish Network site soon. If you would like more information, or would like to join the Scotland group follow this link:

Hi Kate,

Absolutely!

You and and everyone else participating in this MOOC represent a community of practitioners co-producing the fringe and the core of this community resource. Co-production is at the heart of the ethos behind learning through this sort of MOOC.

Well spotted,

Phil

Thanks - just found your reply - it was a rhetorical question! I was just pointing out that without a shared language, it is sometimes difficult to establish whether we are talking about the same themes : what CLD calls empowerment, the NHS calls capacity building. If you say capacity builing to a CLD person, they assume some capacity to build on (whereas the NHS assume none)
