Thanks for the presentation today.

Alan – is the checklist re. hall governance you mentioned available for wider distribution?

 

I note your council provides development grants  for community centres.

Most halls in the Western Isles have been created, financed and managed by volunteers. Thus finance is always a dilemma.

A de-centralisation policy has provided office rental revenue for some rural halls,  but in the current economic climate this is under threat.

Can local authorities be held to a de-centralisation policy?
