What to do? It's the hottest part of the summer, you have a new garden
bed to prepare for fall planting, and ragweed season will be starting in
just a few weeks. These may seem like unrelated problems, but the
simple technique of sheet mulching turns them into one convenient solution!

My wife and I will be hosting a permaculture "work party" on Saturday,
July 24, from 4-6 pm at our urban farm, 1301 State St, Emporia, KS.
Refreshments will be provided. Bring a pair of gloves, wheelbarrow,
and/or spading fork if you have them. Please dress for full afternoon sun.

After a brief orientation to the site and the theory of sheet mulching,
we will prepare the soil, gather an abundant crop of not-yet-flowering
ragweed from neighboring alleyways, and layer it between cardboard and
leaves collected last fall from the neighbors.

Ragweed is simply the best plant I've found to use for sheet mulching,
and I want to show you how you can put it to constructive use before it
goes to flower and makes thousands of people miserable!

Please RSVP to ty...@benstallings.name or 620-794-3751 so we know to
expect you.
