Local Food Workshop
Cost: Free!
Join us to celebrate our community local food initiative. Rhonda Janke, of the College of Agriculture at Kansas State University, will be our Key Note speaker. Rhonda brings a wealth of knowledge about alternative crop production and local food initiatives. Rhonda comes to K-State after an extended stint with the Rodale Institute and is leading initiatives throughout our state in the development of local food production. Come join us for a great time of learning, networking, and visiting with others in our community interested in the development of a strong local food network. A variety of discussion groups and informational forums are scheduled. This is a “pot luck” affair so bring a dish to share with others. If you are unable to bring a dish, don’t let that stop you from coming and sharing in this community gathering. We’ll have plenty. Come and go as you wish. This workshop is co-sponsored by Emporia State University, Flint Hills Technical College – Sustainable Living Center, and the Emporia Area Local Food Network. Funding made possible by the Emil Babinger Charitable Trust. Please RSVP by visiting http://flinthills.augusoft.net Tracey Graham Ph.D., Market Manager
