A pal of mine is part of Greenling in Austin, Tx.  Thought this group might have folks who love compost as much as I do and so enjoy this compost note:   1,473. that's the number of gallons of new green material we've piled up over the last 3 weeks. that's somewhere between 1 and 2 tons of waste saved from the landfill, with another 400 gallons/half ton expected next week. when we started this project, Mason mentioned the guy doing Daily Juice's composting was taking in 3,000 gallons a month as a backup guy to talk to when we ran out of space/capacity. I couldn't even comprehend such a figure, thinking we were only putting out a few hundred gallons or so in the same timeperiod. started a new log tracking hours, gallons in, pounds in, which pile it went into, which piles were turned, and temperatures. Dad called the state soil lab, and will be sending a sample of our finished compost soon. results expected in a few weeks.
