PC starting level: # 4 #

Difficulty: Medium

Mission: Protect a youthful aristocrat by the name of Cigam Nogard.
He is transporting twelve wagons to the far east using an overland
route.

Wage: -> Negotiable <-
Bonus: +1 Cloak of Resistance

Historical reference/overview: Marco Polo meets D&D
Notable NPC's in caravan:
*Moltar, the eeeeevil wizard (that's evil with five "e"'s)
*Broderic McLoud

Scene:
On the outskirts of town a caravan is preparing to depart. A
youthful barbarian-aristocrat, human, is doing his level best to
organize the wagons but seems woefully unable for the task.
A dwarf cleric arrives to assist the youth and with a few bellows
from the dwarf the anarchy of moments before is gone. The human
youth smiles sheepishly and thanks the dwarf. He turns towards the
road to see the approach of adventurers who have seen his
advertisements offering gold for their service as guards.
"Welcome, my name is Cigam Nogard - and I am in need of guards to
protect me and mine. While you are in my employment you will wear my
colours.”,greets the youthful human barbarian-aristocrat. He holds
up a silver and black cloak reminiscent of the colours he is wearing.

A bald man wearing a thick orange vest treads quietly up to the man
making a greeting towards him.
"cigam nogard (Nobility Check Roll 01: 12+10=22) yes barbarian noble,
well met. I Finn am willing to protect you with my life, I will not
retreat until you are safe. Of course I will require decent payment
for my services"
Finn takes the Cloak from his charge and clasps it onto his back.
"I will bear this cloak with honor and now these colors are that of my
own"
Finn then pulls out his shortsword. "Allow me to show you a few of my
skills so that you may put me in a postion that I will be of most use"
Finn initiates his Burning Blade and his short sword becomes covered
in flames and he then initiates the flashing Sun strike and he begins
to accelerate into a blur as his blade flashes and moves with
impossible speed making 2 attacks.
"I believe that will suffice to show a bit of my talent"

~Black Tye~
A black bald dwarf witnesses the exchange between Finn and Cigam
Nogard. He is impressed with the incredible feat of the swords burning
but thinks that with a little bit of oil and a sleight of hand he too
could perform that trick. He kicks a stone as he walks up behind Finn
so as not to startle Finn or Cigam Nogard.
"Ah, very impressive. I too wish to serve you on your expedition Lord
Nogard. While my blade cannot catch fire it is impressive - non?",
with that comment he holds up his huge hand and a half sword. He
continues with flourish,"I am a duergar dwarf - so this is what I can
do". He and his equipment enlarge and where once stood a dwarf now
stands a larger replica with a colossal hand a half sword. Black Tye
then winks at the pair as he becomes invisible.

Another nearby dwarf, Moltar, smiles, bends down and picks up some of
the dusty debris that all roads seem to accumulate. He then pitches
the handful in an arc where the black dwarf began his trick. The dust
and debris easily show where the lurking large 'dwarf' is concealed.
"Nice tricks.", laughs Moltar as he wanders off chuckling to himself.

gold on a daily basis. Say, 5 per day?"
"You - large - invisible - with dust on him - what do I call you? I
also offer you either five gold or one percent of the profits of my
journey - what say you - 'dwarf'?", questions Cigam. With that said
he tosses a black and silver cloak to the black 'dwarf'.

Sitting in front of one of the wagons is a female in odd armour. In

"Salutations good Sir, I am here with my guardian Sir Tye, He

I pause for a moment as I try to catch my Breath.
"I am a cleric of Fate, follower to no Deity but to that of my own
Ideals, my trust in them allow me to heal the wounds of my allies and
strike down our enemies,"
I notice that this man has a bunch of cloaks and I then register that
he is the noble.
"So good Sir Nogard may I join with my protecter in your cause?"
I lean over and spot Black.
"Sir Tye, you ran off ahead, how are you supposed to protect me if we
are so far apart?"

All the wagons and their occupants are 'teleported' to their intended

I also see a yellow cloud drifting out of the forest.
My head rocks forward as there is a lurch.

"Nogard!? what seems to be the matter? We have stopped,"
I have no way of knowing what this cloud is so I ask THe Eeeeevil wizard.

~Elmer~
I am appalled at how Finn enjoys but even as I am thinking a javelin whistles past me but because of my dodge it misses.
Black becoming larger seems to have gotten hit a bit more but I think a spiritual weapon is perhaps better at the moment.
I cast it onto the female drummer if I can see her or I target a goblin which was not killed by Finn's flame bursty deal.

~Finn~
I have been hit by a falchion(2d4(4)+6), a javelin(1d4(2)+2), a morningstar(1d6(3)+2) and a crit from a javelin. 2(1d6(3)+2)
Total= 25 points of damage-2 Martial Spirit. If I'm wrong correct me.
Man these creatures have been causing more hurt then anticipated, I guess strength in numbers is really true, regardless I am only down half my health and I can keep going for a bit yet.
I use my stone bones strike on this goblin beside me(I gain DR5/adamantine for the rest of the round)
Attack Roll 15: 09+09 =18
I deal d6(3)+4=7
My Stone Bone strike should do well to protect me for now.
