Hi all, we're in the midst of overhauling the Empire Avenue API. What we released 4 weeks ago was kind of a "test" for what we wanted to do. I don't believe we will have oAuth in this release either but we will be doing a fairly major overhaul.

Some of what you have to look forward to:

1. Getting rid of user_ids completely. Everything will be based on Ticker. If you know someone's ticker you will be able to request by that ticker

2. Support for POST actions. We intend to support at least the following POST actions this week and will get the remaining into the system over the next few weeks:

- status update
- headline post
- set a follow
- remove a follow
- send a message
- set an alert
- remove an alert

Timeline Guidelines:

Wednesday (June 16th) evening, release of the new API structure with some added GET calls
Friday - Monday (June 18th to June 20th), release of the POST calls

Since some of the changes require site-wide alterations, we are in the process of a full test scenario so as with all our releases we will release when we are able to satisfy that it meets as good a quality as possible! The timelines above are guidelines, please follow @empireave and @dups for announcements that relate to this!

Thanks for your patience while we give the API some love :)

Cheers
Dups
