2. Today’s Friday Curriculum Report Meeting

This was a meet and greet meeting for the Empathy Center's curriculum project, where Edwin Rutsch, the Director, welcomed new participants to discuss the organization's mission to build the empathy movement and make mutual empathy a core cultural value. The meeting included introductions from several participants, including Zahede who is working on a Persian literature initiative connecting Rumi's teachings to empathy practices, Tammy from Wisconsin who has high empathy scores and works in nonprofit disaster relief, and William who is based in Santa Barbara and leads the local chapter.

Edwin explained the Empathy Center's curriculum project which includes various workshops and training modules, with the core practice being Empathy Circles based on mutual active listening. The group discussed upcoming events including an Empathy Summit the next day and regular Empathy Circle meetings, with participants sharing their interest in applying empathy practices in educational settings, community conflict resolution, and personal growth initiatives.
