Empaths and static electricity

Since I am relatively new at embracing my god-given gifts I have a question for you folks. Do empaths carry a lot of static electricity in their bodies? I cannot wear a watch, street lights go out when I pass close to them, I get shocked all the time on light switches, and it is nearly impossible for me to shop at the grocery store because I am constantly shocking myself on the carts. I was just curious.

I know that there are times when I'm always getting shocked. Drives me crazy and I'm constantly grounding myself before I touch anything. 

I don't know if it's connected to empathy, though. 

Anyone else find this?

Yes me too,  including sometimes when I kiss my grand-daughter. My laptop and cell have to be recharged more frequently when I use them but work just fine with others. But my worst is when I put my hand to check water temp in the bath. My watches just stop, I used to put new batteries frequently, so I do not wear them anymore. 

What I would like to know is if there is any co-relation with attracting lightening as well. We can have the worst of the storms but nothing will happen if I am not in the house. Also the appliances stop working for some reason, this I notice happens when I am angry or in pain most of the time they will get back to normal after I have released that pain.

My goodness!  My empathic mother's watches used to stop/break - from her energy.  I'm an empath, too, but do not have these side effects.  I do find that I am very influenced emotionally by electrical wires - and feel "out of sorts" around them.  Can you wear latex gloves for grounding when you push a shopping cart?  It would look funny, but might enable you to shop.

Have never thought about wearing latex gloves but I might try it. It is extremely annoying and doesn't exactly feel very good when this happens. Thanks for the idea.

Yes this happens to me too except for the carts, it could be the plastic/rubber protection they have here. Laptops and cell phones seems to need recharge more frequently. Door knobs do that. I frequently get my finger shocked by bath water as I check the temperature.... this happens when I am emotionally charged with excitement or with pain, only on the extremes. Nothing seems to happen when I am just okey. 

Kissing and hugs causes this especially when you have a strong sense of compassion or feel someone's pain and the strong desire to help or relieve it...

I also noticed that certain house appliances also and alarm system stop working no matter how new they are.... that I observed happens especially if there is a high emotional charge of pain and anger, it affects them. But after a day or two or once that emotion has been resolved, they seem to go back to normal.

I was wondering if any of you seems to attract lightening strikes... this happens a lot in mine and it has never happened when I am not around no matter how strong the lightening was.  Do you think this is connected to being an empath.

What kind of tingles?

It could also indicate a neck that is out of alignment.

I experience the same problem with static electricity. My pc at work kept on blowing because of it, so frequently that I had to get a special carpet to stop it from happening. I always get shocked when I touch something.

Oh actually I should mention that I'm enduring mild to moderate alcohol withdrawal syndrome......so that might be it.... Hence that question I asked you once about alcohol abuse and empaths....

I have the similar issues. Watches actually move at different times. I had a watch once that would be wrong during the hour but would always be right on the hour.  I do get shocked alot as well. Lighting lately has been hitting very close to me. About six months back I think lighting struck around me. I was sitting outside meditating and a lighting storm started, all of a sudden a lighting struck but I didn't hear anything or see anything but white through my eyelids and then I was standing, I don't remember if my hair stood on end or not. The street lights flicking on and off happen to me all the time.

I have months at time when I can't touch anything, my car door, cats,house door, microphone at friends karaoke, other people without shocks. It starts out light and then gets very painful. My last one lasted about months. Gloves haven't helped. I try close doors with my upper arm or body cause my hands can't take anymore sometimes. I was hoping to find out how to control this. Only thing I find that helps me is to touch my bare foot to the floor before touching something.

ME!!! and DEFINITELY the static. When the weather is cold, dry and gusty winds, energy from friction and energy sources are crazy. MORE so when eg intense adhd like myself, having sooo much freaking inner energy... so i guess its an empath thing?? All this talk of energy so.. makes sense to speculate...

This is ooollldd post so who knows if the person will see this. Iv often got neck tingles and sometimes i go through periods of frequent tingles such as recently. Ive had actual hands on my neck and blowing in my ears and sleep paralysis (holy crap my whole life) and seen things and heard and blah blah blah. My friend just earlier today said shes amazed its all normal for me, i said i actually dont know what normal is anymore LOL i thought i did but based on every feedback ive ever received, quite the contrary lool

I just found this group. I also wondered about electricity and empathy. I'm 43 and just now figuring out that there may be a correlation between the two. I'm always having to ground myself before I touch things - throughout the year; not just during cold weather but definitely worse in winter. 

I don't have any lightning incidents but I, and others who knew me,  used to think that when I was sad, it would rain or thunderstorm. To the point where people would call me and check on me if it was storming outside. Now I'm thinking it may have been the other way around. I now get migraines when the barometric pressure drops and I can literally sense storms coming. I guess I may be too grounded. LMAO.

There's got to be something to this.
