The EMPAIA development team proposes an
optional extension to the existing Medical Data API v3 specification, to separate Annotation, Primitive, Class and Collection data by Case ID. This extension enables the service backends to implement storage partitioning on a database or filesystem level (depending on the implementation). The proposed API change is beneficial, because it allows service backends to optimize data read/write performance and to implement data archival of specific cases.
The full
EMP-0100 proposal is available for review and comments.
An integration in the open-source EMPAIA platform implementation is planned and must be available before the EMP will be finally approved.
