Subject: Recruitment for Friendship Families Program

Good morning,

I was hoping I could get some help from your units to recruit non-student community members for our Friendship Families Program.  We still have ~10 students without matches whom we would like to get matched before spring break.  If you have any staff listservs, or groups off campus that you're a part of (rotary clubs, etc.), could you please share the below message with them? Of course you are also welcome to participate! I really appreciate your support.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sign up for the Friendship Families Program

If you missed out on participating in the Friendship Families program over the holidays, no worries! We are still recruiting community members to match with international students!

In addition to holidays, we encourage events such as a picnic at a local park or backyard cookout, a nature walk or browsing a local festival, attending a performance or athletic event, even a trip to Lake Wauburg or the beach. We encourage both students and their friendship families to check in with each other monthly and try to connect in person every 4-6 weeks.

Step 1: Create an account on the Gators for Good platform. Select “Sign up with GatorLink” if you have an @ufl.edu email OR “click for more options” if not.

Step 2: Submit your application to the UFIC Friendship Families group.
