Hi neighbors,
Please see this link below, to give input to the City of Austin Watershed Protection Department, so they can understand our residents' priorities for protecting Austin's creeks and communities.
Thank you Nurse Dean for making us aware of this opportunity!

Hi R2R Community Activation Group,

It was great to see some of you a couple of Fridays ago—thank you, as always, for your thoughtful participation. For those of you who weren't able to make it, please be sure to share your thoughts via the SMART Goal Validation Post Work exercise that Deanna and Charlie sent out (see reminder sent Thursday 7/24 at 1:51pm).

I'm reaching out to you today to ask for your support spreading the word even wider about the Your Voice, Shaping Our Priorities Rain to River survey. Responses are rolling in—we're currently at 447 responses! However, we are not yet seeing the demographic diversity we want to see among participants. For example, 82% of the 365 participants who completed the demographics section identified as White our European (see below for the breakdown of other participants) and 77% own their home.

We still have a month and a half left until the survey closes on September 15th, and we need your help reaching the full diversity of people who live, work, and play in Austin. Can you help us get the survey in front of people of color and indigenous folks, renters, unhoused folks, people with lower incomes, LGBTQIA+ folks, and people whose first language is not English?

It would be such a big help if you could do any or all of these things:
  1. Use the Social Media Kit (https://tinyurl.com/R2RSocialMediaKit) to help share pre-created blurbs and graphics like the one below via social media, email, or a newsletter to your professional and personal networks.
  2. Let me know about community events where the Rain to River team can present or table.
  3. Share the Rain to River flyer, hand fan (which is basically a flyer you can keep cool with), or other R2R swag at your workplace or event—I will deliver a bag of swag to you if you ask!

Thank you so much for your help and for your dedication to this Rain to River process! We appreciate you so much!

And have a great weekend!
Sari

Our department provides many services to safeguard Austin’s creeks and communities, but we only have so much money, time, and people to get everything done. That means we must make tough choices about what to prioritize. Take our 10-minute survey to help us make these decisions that truly reflect our community's needs! https://RainToRiverATX.com
