When I googled Family Affair Liquor Store, without asking anything else, Google AI displayed the following:

Family Affair Liquors So Many Liquor Stores in Black Neighborhoods.jpg

And this is a quickly done map to show existing places to buy alcohol (3 gas stations) as well as the location of the Double RR Grocery (red dot) where you can already buy alcohol.  We don't need a liquor store on top of all of this.  It's an unfair burden to this neighborhood.  The owner of Double RR Rodney Anderson who is asking for this zoning change lives out near Oakhill 13+ miles from our neighborhood.

Hello Christine
Thank you for following up regarding the proposed family liquor store development in East Austin. Our neighborhood has historically been a low-income community, and although gentrification has changed the demographics in many areas, the patten of placing liquor store  in vulnerable communities continues. The concentration of alcohol outlets contributes to well-documented health and safety concerns, and it feels like an unfair burden placed in our area yet again.  We believe development should bring needed resources --such as fresh food access, and community-serving businesses--rather that additional alcohol retail. If Double  R are potential stakeholders perhaps they should be invited into this conversation. I have reached out to the applicant and owner of the case. If someone can reach out to the D R owner and express our concerns that will be helpful.

Thanks for Christina
