scalability question

hi,

(apologies, i don't know Spanish.)

Tried to use smack for running many clients on a single machine (no
gui, more like lots of bots) but the # of threads smack uses means we
can't support e.g. 1000 simultaneous users. Does emite somehow not use
up a bunch of threads per client, if we tried to use it for this
purpose? I see it uses executors, but apparently not nio.

Hello:

Emite is designed to work within browsers, not as independent library (i.e. to make robots). I don't think it work for your purposes. Maybe you can take a look to tigase.org. They have some xmpp implementations, but I never tried them.
