First of all, I'm sorry for my absence during all this months... It's
been a really really busy year and also I've just had a baby, so my
time is really short right now...
I've been talking with Vicente (vjrj) about Emite project. Given the
situation, I can't maintain the project anymore, so I would love
anyone to take care of it, but also I would like to leave it in a
better situation. That means (in my opinion, but I'd love to hear
others) merge all the changes of the different Emite forks and remove
Suco dependencies for all the Hablar project. Probably a 1.0 version
bump (as Ash suggested time ago) would be a nice end.
But given all the time I've been disconnected from the project, I
don't know exactly what the situation is: there are several forks, but
I don't know exactly what to merge or how... Help on this are would be
really apreciated.
Also, any suggestions and initiatives are welcomed.
Saludos and good 2012
Good to hear from you and congratulations on your new arrival :)
I've also just had a baby (little girl named Emilia, arrived in December)
so I know what it's like!
I'm sorry I haven't had much time to spend on the emite/hablar project
lately too as our client release of it is now stable and we haven't
developed it lately (so I haven't had much work time to devote to it) and
also haven't had much leisure time to spend on it either.
We are hopefully being able to free up a bit of time in the Surevine
schedule which I can spend on non client related development, so I am
hoping to devote this to the emite project and help get it into the state
it deserves to be in.
I still think a 1.0 release would be great :)
Thanks!
Ash

Congratulations to you too!! We both know what short time is right
now!! Our little girl arrived in... Dicember!... is called Nico and we
are a happy (but sleepy) family!
As I can read by the emails the Ted fork seems to be the most
promising to be merged into emite master (unless some other has other
issues... ¿xose?) ... I will take a look at your code and see the best
way to integrate with the master branch ...
I won't be able to move the V part of the MVP to other library, but
maybe its a good idea to move all views to their own jar in order to
change it later...
Bests,
Dani
As you know, I've been working on Emite as part of an end of degree
project. Some of my changes, like the new Maven build system and the
move from Suco to Gin have already been merged in the summer. The
"big" changes however are still on a pull request on GitHub. You can
read the detailed changes there:
https://github.com/EmiteGWT/emite/pull/32
Because the changes are so big they will require applications using
Emite to be updated, even if those changes are usually
straightforward. I also haven't updated Hablar with these changes,
merging the pull request right now will break it. So I have no issue
if my branch is not merged yet, but I'd like to get it merged at some
point in the future.
I'll resume work on my branch, as well as an Hablar update, by the end
of the month. If there's anything else I can help with, let me know.
