Your app can include stickers, text, video, and audio. You can also use code to add functionality such as Apple Pay and in-app purchase. Choose to list your app in the Stickers category or another relevant category on the App Store for iMessage.
If you have an iOS app, you can bundle it with a sticker pack or an iMessage extension. The sticker pack is listed on the App Store for iMessage in the same category and with the same description as your iOS app on the App Store. Users who download your iOS app will automatically see the sticker pack in iMessage.
Check the Guidelines. Learn about considerations for extensions and stickers in the App Store Review Guidelines. All submitted apps are reviewed based on this set of technical, content, and design criteria.
App Preview. Your app preview footage demonstrates the features, functionality, and UI of your app. For iOS apps with iMessage or sticker extensions, you can show both the iOS app experience and the iMessage app experience. Do not show the Home screen or the transition from the app to the extension. App previews are displayed on the App Store for iPhone and iPad and are not displayed on the App Store for iMessage.
Category. The App Store for iMessage shows apps browsable by primary categories. The Stickers category appears at the top of the category list and also contains subcategories. This category is only available to standalone sticker pack apps and iMessage apps. You can choose Stickers as the primary category and one Stickers subcategory.
Every time I tap on the Stickers in the message it will return to the the message typing bar, it's not showing the stickers for some reason? I have contact apple support, they cannot fix it. And my iPad have the same issues too.
I have the same problem. No stickers. It opens then immediately closes. I never even see the stickers. Rebooting and closing apps does not work. I am not signing out of my apple id as I do not want to setup my wallet again. Apple needs to fix this as it has never worked for me. Did not work on my iphone 13 pro or my 15 pro max.
Switched from iPhone SE 2020 to iPhone 15 Pro. Had updated to iOS 17 before switching phones, and the stickers function worked fine on the SE. It has not worked on the 15 pro. When trying to add a sticker from the photos or messages apps, the drawer will flash momentarily (if at all) then disappear. Hope this is resolved soon!
I just bought my iPhone 15 Pro Max this week, and it forced me to update the software upon turning it on and setting it up. Even with the latest iOS 17.1.2 version, this issue is still broken. I had this issue with my previous phone, a 13 Pro Max. It was an update made some months ago that killed the stickers feature. I used to use stickers in the GIF app too, and it also died with that same update. It's always something.
Signing out of iCloud is a temporary fix and the problem returns the next day. Additionally, applying the "sign out of iCloud then sign back in" resets the Wallet & Apple Pay and you must reinstall your credit cards. I'm not happy, and I need the cards to work more than the stickers, so I guess I leave it alone for now. FYI, updating to iOS 17.0.3 doesn't fix the issue.
I updated my iPhoneX to 14.5.1. Now, I seem to have lost several sticker apps in my text messages. They were replaced by things like my Dicks Sporting Goods App, United Airlines, etc. I searched for Apps "not on my phone" and that didn't work.
The sticker Apps do not appear in the "Not on this iPhone". They do appear in the "All" tab, and my option there is to OPEN them. When I do that, nothing appears to happen, and they are not re-added to my App scrubber where they used to be when in text messaging. They seem to have been replaced with stuff you can't add to a text message -- things like my Dick's Sporting Goods App, my Southwest Airlines App, etc. When I tap "Open" on one of my old sticker apps under the "All" tab, it just takes me to the App Store, and the sticker app I had before is not there. This happened after I updated to 14.5.1. I tried shutting sown and restarting my phone and that did not work either.
Thank you, but I have done that. The sticker apps I am looking for do not appear there for some reason. However, when I go to my profile under "Purchased" they do appear there. Tapping "OPEN" does nothing to retrieve them. At least that I can tell.
All seems to work except the stickers did not move across. When i try to save any sticker either from whatsapp available packs or via chats, it only lets me favourite one sticker and keeps replacing if i try to save anymore.
If I build and run the sticker pack on simulator, to any simulated iPhone/iPad, iMessages launches, the icon for my sticker pack appears and then iMessage crashes. I receive the system error: "MobileSMS quit unexpectedly."
I'm running Xcode Version 9.0.1 (9A1004) on MacOS High Sierra 10.13. The error generated by Xcode is below. Any and all answers appreciated. It is important to note I did not write any code for the sticker pack, nor modify the code. It is all generated automatically by Xcode when building the sticker pack project.

Apple recently released iOS 17, the latest big update that's available for anyone with an iPhone from 2018 or later. One of the features I've been using most is the new customizable sticker emoji. You can, for example, make a sticker from any photo of your dog or child and then drop it into a group chat. You can even create your own GIF stickers from live photos.
1. Update your phone. Before you can start using the new sticker emojis, make sure your iPhone is running iOS 17. Go to Settings > General > Software Update. If there's an update available, install it.
2. Creating a sticker in Photos. The easiest way to create a sticker is to go to a picture you've taken and use Apple's Visual Look Up tool. All you have to do is tap and hold the subject of the picture and you'll be able to lift the subject right out of the photo. Lift your finger off the screen and a menu will appear asking if you want to "Add Sticker."
3. Open the sticker emoji keyboard. Go to iMessages and start a new conversation or open an existing chat. Tap the plus sign to the left of the message composition field. You'll see a list of options, including Stickers. This is where you'll always see your saved custom stickers.
4. Creating a sticker in iMessage. You can also create a sticker right in iMessage. When you're already in a conversation, select the plus button and choose "Stickers." Here you'll see the stickers you have saved and to the left of those stickers is a bigger plus button. Selecting the plus button will bring you to your photos where you can select images to turn into stickers, too.
5. Create a GIF sticker. Creating a GIF sticker is simple. All you have to do is select the subject of a Live Photo. This will create a moving image sticker you can drop into your iMessage conversations.
6. Dropping stickers into iMessages. There are a few ways to drop your newly created stickers into iMessages. You can choose to add a sticker into the message composition field, or you can reply to a certain line of text with a sticker. The easiest way is to open up stickers and drag and drop one into any part of the conversation. You can even stack stickers on top of one another.
Live Stickers are an evolution of the tap-and-lift photo feature introduced in iOS 16, which lets you cut out the backgrounds of photos and live photos. The new iOS 17 feature lets you add effects to the cut-out images and store the stickers in the new app drawer in Messages.
1. Open your Messages on your iPhone.
2. Go into any text conversation and tap the plus sign (+) next to the text field.
3. Tap Stickers.
4. Tap the folded-over circle near the top-right corner of the Stickers app.
5. Tap the large plus sign (+). This will open your Photos.
6. Select which photo or live photo you want to make into a sticker. Your iPhone will automatically cut the background from the photo.
7. If you're happy with the sticker, tap Add Sticker in the bottom-right corner of your screen.
Your Live Sticker will be added to the Stickers app in Messages automatically, and you'll be given the options to Rearrange, Add Effect or Delete your Live Sticker within the Stickers app. Tapping Add Effect will put an effect on your sticker, like a white outline to make it really look like a sticker.
According to Apple, you can use your new Live Sticker anywhere you can access emoji, including in other apps and between other Apple devices that aren't running iOS 17. I tried to use a Live Sticker on the messaging app Slack, however, and my sticker was given a white background. I also couldn't access my Live Stickers in some third-party apps, like TikTok. So you might run into some issues when using your Live Stickers outside of Apple apps and devices.
The Messages app gets a number of valuable upgrades with iOS 17. One of the big changes is the ability to create and place stickers including emoji, custom ones, and Live Stickers anywhere in a message. Follow along for how to make and use iPhone Messages stickers with iOS 17.
