You would need a SEM to read it though!

when I last looked about 10 years ago you could get a basic desktop
SEM with a single sensor for under $10k... ofcourse that says nothing
about the utility or the running costs...

Sounds good at that price but I would really need a good EDAX detector and image capture equipment with appropriate software and hardware, so that would add another zero to the end at least!

STM for under a grand if yu build it yourself - presuming you have
access to a full workshop of course - friend build one for honours...

I was once offered a TEM - 1970's vintage... - if I could take it away
- Sooo tempted... but I have a shed full of such things...

while on the subject, any one need a DMTA or TGA rig - I have one - or
selectrodes? Autoburrette? burrettes, pipettes? I have a shed to
empty out... no reasonable offer sneezed at....


I have some furnaces and ovens too in various states of disrepair....
