The Los Angeles County Science Fair provides an annual venue for
public and private middle and high school students to compete for
science awards and recognition, while at the same time encouraging and
nurturing the student’s interest in various scientific fields. The
goal of the Science Fair is to provide an opportunity for young people
to apply creativity and critical thought to the solution of science,
engineering and mathematics problems beyond the confines of the
classroom.

Each year, the Fair publicly recognizes the achievements of certain
talented students in each of these areas. Three students from Emerson
Middle School were among those honored this year:

Ryan Eveloff: 2nd Place in Environmental Management

Cobalt James McAvinue: 3rd Place in Physics

Emerson Keyes: Honorary Mention in Plant Biology
