Dads Breakfasts

Dads Group--

I hope that you are all staying safe and learning how to navigate the "new normal."  Today would have been the last Dads Group Breakfast of the school year.  Like so many other things, plans have changed.  I hope that you have been able to find a silver lining in all of this by having some more "at home Dads Breakfasts" than you otherwise normally would.

It's unclear when we will be able to resume ourevents and what form they will take when we do.  Beginning next year, Peter Hosharian will be taking over the reigns (Thank you Peter)!  He has graciously agreed to lead the Dads Group into its next phase and will be monitoring the situation as it unfolds.  I'll be coming back to visit for sure whenever things get back off the ground.  Until then, stay safe and take care.

P.S.  A big thank you and best wishes to the 5th grade families as they move on to Middle School!

Hi Brian,

We can't thank you enough for your huge role in bringing the community together with the Dads Group Breakfasts.  This very simple concept gave us all an opportunity to spend more time with our children, develop new friendships, become better informed about the school, eat some delicious food, laugh, and just have a good time.  

I have some big shoes to fill and I'm looking forward to it.  It's unfortunate that we couldn't have a proper send off for you Brian, but I promise to make you our first special guest when we are able to convene which will hopefully be the beginning of the next school year.  

We have a tentative schedule for 5 Dads breakfasts throughout the 2020-2021 school year which should be published soon.  But, as you all are aware, because of COVID, it will be a day-to-day decision.  We are looking into potentially holding the breakfasts remotely if we are not able to meet in person.   I will keep you posted.

Brian,

A huge Thank You to our work these past 5 years!  It has been an absolute joy to watch you work and to watch the activity of the group!  To know that space has been maintained to get parents and family members involved in the Emerson Community who otherwise might not be able to, and to have the support of the school's teachers and administration as well as that of Muir is really special.  The community is better, and these kids are better, because of your work and that of this group.

To the ongoing parents, keep it going!
