Hi folks,
Thanks for including me in the group. I am totally a “newbie” to this googlegroup stuff, but I want to be part of the discussion. It is the discussion I am bringing into our congregation, and I’d love to talk it through with others on the way. Monday the 21st, however, we are hosting a play at our church – a one-man drama called “Dirt,” which is a look at racism among us. Imago Dei is bringing the drama to town and we are providing the space. (If you want, you can get more info at their site http://www.imagodeicommunity.com/ or ours www.mttaborchurch.net). I would like to be at the gathering, but not this time. Keep me posted.
By the way, if you want a taste of one of the things we are doing to connect with the culture, we are hosting “the Shepherd and the Knucklehead” this Sunday night (July 13, 6ish) at the Horse Brass Pub on SE Belmont. It is an opportunity to engage with the deeper questions of life around good pub food and beer. It’s not a “Christian” event, but a connection event. More at our website.
Peace,
Carley Friesen
