Vulkan Installation Issue

Greetings!
I have a student in my class who, in trying to install the textbook simulations on his own computer, sees the suggested Vulkan Installer crash without indicating the source of the error. The machine is an Intel MacBook (1.2 GHz Intel Core m3) running macOS Mojave (10.14). I found no helpful guidance on the Vulkan website. Has anybody else encountered this? Thanks!
