BATTLE IN SEATTLE
We've had a lot of questions about how the competition we're calling
"The Battle in Seattle" will work. We've updated the description on
the website and we're sharing it with you here:

The Battle in Seattle will begin with phrase battles. Each team will
have an opportunity to dance on their own and also dance against two
other teams. (Team A, A vs B, Team B, B vs C, Team C, etc.) The
judges will choose two finalists to duke it out, the highest rated
team from the phrase battle will go first, then the second, then they
will battle one another. Teams will be judged both on how they
perform on their own, and how they battle against the other teams,
with the judges looking at their blues aesthetic, choreography,
teamwork, battling/cutting, and showmanship.

When thinking about how to prepare remember that teams can send out
one individual while the rest of the group supports him or her (see
this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSq09Z7TBt0 from the movie
Rize), and teams can also use group choreography. Although we will be
choosing the music for the competition, your team can prepare
choreography using an understanding of musical phrasing.

TO SIGN UP FOR THE BATTLE IN SEATTLE
Please email us at emeraldc...@gmail.com with your team name, the
city you are representing, and the members of your team. Remember
that we are allowing only one team per city.

CABARET SHOW
The cabaret show will be on Friday night at midnight and is free for
all, so come out! It's going to be at West Hall in Seattle's Capitol
Hill neighborhood, so if you'd like to grab a little midnight snack,
there's a bunch of great eateries in the area and some great bars to
hang out at.

If you have an act that you'd like to be part of the show, please
email us at emeraldc...@gmail.com.

Thanks so much and we look forward to seeing you all here at ECBF!

Sincerely,

Martin & -topher
