using netflix on AppleTV 4 and having issues lately with some titles not loading. After selecting the movie or episode, it will just stay on the loading loop. Not a network issue since other titles will load and stream fine. Most titles work fine, but 10% of the time, titles like girl from oslo, fauda, blackspace wont load. Tried forced app restart and reinstall, but issue persists.
Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities, and we'll be happy to help in any way we can. We understand you're having issues with certain content in the Netflix app. To start, follow the steps listed here to see if they help resolve the issue:If you can't watch or stream movies and TV shows in the Apple TV app
I have exactly the same problem. It helps to delete and reinstall the Netflix app. Then everything is fine for some weeks or months, but, out of a sudden, some titles again refuse to start and I have to do the delete-reinstall cycle once again.
I've made a netflix clone using React.js, firebase, and have used TMDB api for movie database.I've also used react-youtube and movie-trailer npm.So it has this feature that every time I click on any movie poster, it's trailer must be played. But for most of the movies, trailer doesn't shows up.
I'm sure you are following the Clever Qazi tutorial as I'm doing. I think there is basically no solution for this problem. I also try to get the trailer of the movies by the ID that TMDB gives for every film but this method definitely doesn't work for mine. My conclusion is that movie-trailer is not working for certain kind of film or series...
You can prove yourself my conlclusion by typing on a terminal npx movie-trailer Cobra Kaiwhich is the command that allow you to use this package. Cobra Kai is a well know series but this "tool" doesn't find any trailer for it.
This error is coming becouse TMDB has not added ids for some videos if you want to play all video you just need need to change the genres of the Netflix Original Video from the path in request.js folder where you wrote your path becouse Netflix originals Videos has not linked with ids on TMDB.
Learn how to adjust your downloads settings to get Netflix to automatically manage it for you with its Smart Downloads features, and how to manage downloads for countries with restricted licenses. For more, learn about Netflix's hidden menu or see CNET's reviews of all the streaming services
If you're familiar with using Netflix on your mobile device, you've probably noticed the dark "Download" button that sits right below "Play." Clicking that button starts a download of a local version of the movie or TV show you want.
You can download Netflix movies and TV shows on iPhone, iPad, Android and Amazon Fire devices, as well as computers with Windows 10 or 11 and some Chromebooks and Chromeboxes. Netflix downloads are set by default to only use Wi-Fi, though you can change that in your app settings.
TV shows can be downloaded individually by clicking the download icon next to each episode. On Android devices, you can download an entire season of a show by tapping the separate Download Season button next to the My List, Rate and Share links near the top of a movie or show listing.
Netflix allows you to keep a maximum of 100 downloads on as many devices as are included in your subscription plan. Each of the downloads has a different expiration date based on its content license -- some expire as early as 48 hours after you first start watching. Downloads can be renewed, but some have a limit on how many times per year. If a movie or show leaves the Netflix service, all downloads for it immediately expire.
You can delete individual movies and shows by unselecting the check box next to each title. You can remove all of your downloads by going into your App Settings and clicking "Delete all downloads" under Downloads.
A "Downloads" tab (called "My Downloads" on Windows) that sits at the bottom of the Netflix app shows you which downloads are in your library and lets you play them. It also lets you customize your download settings, such as Smart Downloads.
When turned on, Download Next Episode will automatically delete TV show episodes once you've watched them and then download the next episode in the season. It's a no-brainer for anyone who downloads TV shows, which is probably why the feature is turned on by default in Netflix apps.
Downloads for You expands the automatic downloading and deleting options for Netflix that are used in Download Next Episode. The feature is available in the iPhone, iPad and Android versions of the Netflix app, as well as some Chromebooks and Chromeboxes.
After Downloads for You is turned on, Netflix uses your viewing habits and preferences to download movies and TV shows that the service thinks you will like. Once you watch them, they're automatically deleted.
If you don't want to watch a downloaded title, you can delete it the same way you would delete downloads that you initiated manually. You can also click the icon of a square surrounded by a broken circle to cancel downloads in progress. Downloads for You only works over Wi-Fi.
Turning that feature on will then open up options for limiting how much data Netflix will automatically download for each user profile, anywhere from 0.5GB to 9.5GB. (Netflix notes that one hour of video at normal quality is about 0.25GB.)
Whether a movie or TV show can be downloaded on Netflix depends on its content license, and licenses vary from title to title. Netflix says that it tries to make as many titles available for download as possible, and when a movie or show is not downloadable it's usually because of three reasons:
In my informal survey, the titles I found mostly likely to be excluded from downloading are popular TV shows from cable or broadcast networks. "Grey's Anatomy," "Gilmore Girls" and "The Walking Dead" are three shows you can stream on Netflix, but not download.
Geographical restrictions that limit streaming titles in certain countries also apply to downloaded movies and TV shows. If you're traveling in a country where Netflix is not showing the title you downloaded, you won't be able to watch it, even though you already downloaded it in your home country.
Trying to watch a downloaded movie in a country where Netflix doesn't show it will result in an error message in the Netflix app: "Download Not Available in This Country -- Not all downloads are available to watch in every country."
VPN software that create virtual private networks can be used to get around geographical restrictions, but Netflix makes a strong effort to block VPN from working with its service. Using a VPN to bypass geo-blocking could also be considered a violation of Netflix's terms of use.
As we all know, movies are protected by Copyright law, and streaming movies online for free is illegal. As a result of the internet revolution, new forms of exploitation of films have surfaced. To fulfill the entertainment needs of consumers, a lot of streaming apps like Hotstar, Prime Video, Netflix have come up which allow you to watch movies legally, without violating the copyright. In this article, we will understand how Netflix obtains these streaming rights by analyzing what Netflix actually does to have become the largest subscription streaming service in the world and some relevant provisions of law.
Any cinematograph film which is original in the sense that it is not a copy of substantial or essential parts of another film is granted copyright protection. There must be a minimum degree of creativity. What it means to have your film protected by copyright is to have the exclusive right to make a copy of the film, to sell or rent the film, or to make the film available for being enjoyed by the public. Now, to exploit these rights, the producer of the film enters into distribution agreements with companies.
If a platform like Netflix wants to stream a movie, it will have to enter into a Digital Exploitation Agreement with the producer of the film wherein the producer will license the right to communicate the film to the public, also called a Film Distribution Agreement. There are various kinds of Film Distribution Agreements depending on the mode of exploitation such as theatrical and non-theatrical. By licensing this right and not assigning it, the producer does not transfer the title to the film but only gives permission to the distributor to stream the movie for a particular term period. The most essential clauses of such agreements are the Definitions Clause, Grant of Rights Clause, and the Consideration Clause.
Grant of License: this clause lays down clearly that all rights have been licensed by way of this agreement. This can also include restrictions on dubbing, subtitling, editing, altering, not using the content in any manner other than through the agreed platform. It is also important to include a residual clause within this statement that all residual rights not granted shall vest absolutely with the licensor.
Consideration: this clause stipulates the amount of the licensee fee to be paid, the mode and schedule of payment. It also mentions if this payment is inclusive or exclusive of taxes. As per The Copyright Act, 1957, underlying authors in a film are also entitled to royalties for commercial exploitation of their works so this clause should also mention the number of royalties to be paid to them.
Netflix is an Over the top (OTT) platform which means it is a streaming media service that is offered to the viewers directly through the internet. It does not need cable, satellite television, or a broadcast platform. OTT, in general, means subscription-based video-on-demand service providing access to film as well as television content.
Netflix regularly negotiates and renegotiates agreements with various content providers to license streaming rights for multiple movies and TV shows. A license agreement is constituted under the terms of a legally binding contract between the content owners and Netflix, and each agreement varies based on the needs of the content owner and Netflix. Some licenses are limited for a time while others will last for a perpetuity. For this reason, Netflix is always updating consumers on what will soon be available, and also what will soon disappear.
