Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Xbox Series S
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? V 1.42
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them EXCEPT: My first pet stuff , batuu , dream home decorator , get famous , discover university , snowy escape and all kits
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? They have to offer FPS Boost to The Sims 4, several games have done it, Big mistake to offer the 60 fps as an xbox one x improvement when the series s is not compatible with the one x improvements
What happens when the bug occurs? It is annoying that the game is locked at 30 fps in xbox series s and in xbox series x it is at 60 fps, The Series S is capable of running the game at 60 fps It urgently needs FPS Boost
What do you expect to see? Keep the game running at a smooth 60fps on Series S and not just on one x and series x
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

At first it was great, very fast and very smooth gameplay. But as I added more packs it started to get unstable. Especially after cottage living. Sometimes the images become slow and shadowed if that makes sense. I'm also crashing and taking 3 attempts at least to load my game and I've reported that on the relevant feed and been in direct contact with the team.

@Rachelharris31It happens occasionally but not all the time. The whole game starts to get a bit of a lag with it too. 95% of the time I'd say it looks ok. I upgraded my tv and WiFi at the same time as my Xbox so I didn't know which of the 3 was causing the blurring.

Happens on various xbox consoles, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox series x. When I click on the game it takes a while then gives me this message: Xbox error : For some reason The Sims 4 took too long to start. (0x8027025a)

It's been happening for a long time but it's worse on my new series s console. Usually after a few tries it will finally load but on this new console it takes 10 times or more, soemtimes I just give up.

@PoptartJuniperThanks. I've noticed this also started happening more often since they implemented this new "sims delivery" thing so I disabled it and it's been okay so far. I was hoping to avoid hard resets, etc wondering if it was a game issue since it only happens with Sims 4. It is my "home" xbox as well, but it also happens on the other xbox I own. It does launch after a few tries but it's hapoening way more often than it used to.

@PoptartJuniperIt seems to have been an issue for many people for quite some time but it's not happening only on the Sims 4, so I'm not sure what is causing this. As stated above, it appears okay once I disabled "sims delivery". Quick note about sims delivery: when it says on the menu that there is new content to be downloaded, I click to accept it then click the restart prompt, and this 100% of the time causes this error (took too long, etc) and I have to reboot again, sometimes a few times, which led me to believe this was a game issue. Although I was getting this error before sims delivery came to be, it's happening more often with it there. I'm not an expert but it might have something to do with the online feature as you mentioned. I have good connectivity but this could be the issue since sims delivery requires online access. We have internet though the main building complex ( not our own router) so even though it's fast and reliable, it may be the issue.

I'm having this issue too, have been for over a month now. I discovered the issue is 100% because of Sims Delivery on my Series X. I reset my console, tried everything under the sun (there is literally nothing recommended anywhere across the internet that worked), then finally just reinstalled sims. Worked perfectly fine UNTIL Delivery downloaded and installed in the background. I tested this a few times and it's the only thing that could be causing the problem since everything is fine before this happens. It sucks, I'd love to have fixes and more content... but I've spent WAY too much on DLC for this many issues

@hekatoraOh its worse for me now. It happens 100% of the time and rebooting doesn't help either. It does work if I start another game, quit that, then start Sims, it will load up no problem so now everytime I want to play the Sims , I boot up another game first. It's bizarre. Sims 4 is the only game this happens with ( hubby and I play lots of games) and no, it's not the memory space because this happened on my brand new Xbox series S with this being the only game installed at the time. I am suspecting this isn't just a generic xbox issue but some issue with the game and xbox working together.

Yes! It's the exact same problem for me. Every bit of the issue you're having, no joke. I thought it was just me, I looked everywhere and this was the only place I found someone having the same issue ? Phewww.

I'm having the same trouble and already tried all of the solutions described above without success and it's keep happening.... It's frustrating especially after I had bought new DLC''s with this game. Thank you for sharing this, maybe it would help Maxis do something about it. By the way I'm playing in Portuguese, not English.

The only thing that seems to work for me, right now, is to force quit the game (you have to wait until it is completely closed and no longer shows the quit option in the console menu), then delete reserved data and re-open the game. It's exhausting to do, especially for months on end. I'm not comfortable even deleting the reserved data, personally.

It started happening to me when they began doing the Sims deliveries. I can never download them because they cause the console to say the game took too long to start, and deleting the reserved space removes the downloaded content. That's how I figured out it was the problem. No troubleshooting advice ever works for me aside from deleting that data.

EA has decided to transition The Sims 4 into a fully free-to-play title on Xbox, more than five years after its initial launch on the platform. The team feels that whilst new expansions are still in the works for the game and they are "committed" to the future of The Sims, now is the right time to move to free-to-play.

To celebrate, players can pick up a selection of free in-game rewards, as The Sims 4 goes free on Xbox. The rewards include "a variety of tattoos to adorn your Sims, and a special Plumbob ceiling fan", all available in The Sims 4, The Sims FreePlay, and The Sims Mobile, right now!

Xbox players get an extra bonus too - well, if you're a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber at least! EA is delivering an alternate edition of The Sims 4 via EA Play, which includes an additional expansion at no extra cost. Sweet!

That's not all for The Sims either. As the fourth game moves to a free-to-play format, the team has revealed that development is already underway on the next 'The Sims' game. The process is very early on right now, but 'Project Rene' is set to "fundamentally evolve how Sims think and behave, how players create and customize their worlds, and innovate in entirely new ways".

Ben is a News Writer at Pure Xbox, and is a fan of action, racing and straight-up shootin' in any Xbox game he can get his hands on. When he's not clutching an Xbox controller like his life depends on it, Ben spends his time listening to music that's far too old for him, watching football on the telly and probably eating somewhere.

I didn't mind sims 4 on xbox. It was mostly playable. After a while my guy wouldn't piss in any toilet I had though, and would just wet himself constantly. Apparently it was a known bug that just never got fixed. I quit playing.

It's a shame, I spent a lot of time on 1,2,3 on PC. Hopefully they focus just a little more on quality control and actual new content for this "new sims" and not just pumping out add on packs that are basically just reskins of the add on packs from the previous entries in the series, i.e. selling you the same stuff again and again.
