what exactly does c do for autocorr.integrated_time and what value to choose?

Hello,

I have created some plots of tau for different values of c on a chain for 4 different variables and I have noticed that tau can have quite a range of values. How do I choose the best value of c. I am not even exactly sure what c is doing but clearly since I look at convergence from IAT the selection of c is important.
